thankulotto
Hi, this year my Husband and I are going to try dinning out for Christmas Dinner. Please does anyone have any kind suggestions. spark67
We've tried this year...But found all the local restaurants & pubs ( & there is only a few ) that are doing lunch are fully booked, apart, from The crown and greyhound who still have a sitting available at 12-12.30pm when i checked on thursday ( far too early for us ) & they want the ?65 it costs paid up front BTW. I think the plough are doing lunch, and it seems by looking at the website it is part of the same chain as the C&G but with a cheaper menu at ?50, didn't try them as not had great dining experiences there in the past.Good luck with your search :) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/38962-christmas-dinner-and-all-the-trimmings/#findComment-700517 Share on other sites
Pacita
I saw the menu at the Brockwell lido cafe, and it looked excellent, but I'm not sure it's booked up or not! Sue
The Old Nun's Head are advertising two sittings on Christmas Day, but no idea whether they are fully booked yet.I've always found their food to be very good, especially the roasts :) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/38962-christmas-dinner-and-all-the-trimmings/#findComment-700774 Share on other sites

sglanzer
Probably much too late, we've realised we are doing far too much catering over the Christmas period, and would rather like to go out on the 25th. Anyone aware of anywhere that might still have a table for a nice Christmas lunch? spark67
Ended up going to le Chardon on Christmas day, and had a lovely time, food was nice and the staff were very festive, one to recommend for next year, We had the earlier sitting of 12.30. A lot cheaper then some others who quoted and took a ?20 deposit ( rather that then the ?65 up front asked by the crown and greyhound )If we are not going away or decide we ca't be assed to cook next year, might go again :) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/38962-christmas-dinner-and-all-the-trimmings/#findComment-706562 Share on other sites
thankulotto
We second all of that. Lovely time, food and staff great. If you contemplate dinning out for Christmas Dinner next year this is one to consider. LadyNorwood
We went to Porcini on Croxted Road - no sittings, you keep your table no matter what time you get there for your "dinning"....
