It depends on two things

1. If the other person ahs entered your code yet on their console

2. If the two consoles have connected to the WCF (I think that is the right accronym) and told each other that they have swapped codes...

It sometimes takes a while so if people are planning on racing on Monday then I would suggest entering codes before Sunday night to allow everyone who wants to be able to compete.

I wonder if we should have some sort of prize for the winner, or maybe they should receive a glass of Champagne at the next drinks ....

My Wii is flasning blue at the moment which indicates that maybe I have some updates now...

And 'Auntie Bob' has seen you too....

At this rate it could be a two horse race on Monday - Ant vs Auntie Bob

Okay

Open to all so the more we get the more of a challange it will be

I will update this list as we get more codes registered and as I also get people's character names...

----------

Siduhe and myself have registered all the friends stuff - Mockney/Piersy got rejected as not a valid friends code, do you want to check it?

My Fault - Finger dyslexia I am afraid :(- see updated code in BOLD

Checked on My Wii this morning (better then watching breakfast Olympics) and still can only see ANT

Therefore it does take a while to see people once they have registered friends codes so be aware that if you leave it too late you will miss the race night

Is that how it works - with a delay? I've seen a couple of threads that suggest you have to be online at the same time in order to "see" each other as friends for Mario Kart and one that suggested you have to exchange Wii Friend codes as well. We will probably log on this evening after about 9pm to see if there's been any change as we can't see anyone currently.

Will have to check I got Mockers's code right.

I'm not sure that you have to be on at the same time to see each other. I think perhaps you just both have to register each other's code, and that it can take a while for both Wiis to realise that you've done so.

Oh, and the bad news: I can't make the 18th any more. But once we're all set up there's nothing to stop us from having races on other nights, so it's not so bad.

Tiger

Please post your Licence Number in this thread so that other people can enter it for the race - Many thanks

Well now ... there is a question

Lots of wrist action (tennis, bowling, and baseball)

Maybe some low punches (boxing)

and of course if they have Wii Play - Cow racing (I kid you not)

Expect strains in places you didn't expect in the morning after vigor of the exercises the night before

Changing subject slightly

I have registered ASSET and MOCKNEY but they are't my friends yet (boo hoo have I upset them ?)

I can't see them on the Friends list yet - anyone else see them yet ?

that's allright, we don't expect you to, this is modern technology and you are a girl (before anyone complains... see the thread ' is this the end of...' and see what I mean... )

RACE NIGHT - TONIGHT - 8pm - Still (just) time to register if you want to join in, but please do it before 6pm today and post your Mario Kat Licence here so that others can link to you

I will access the system earlier and set up ready for a race between everyone who is on the system

    • Wow I had no idea they give you 5% in perfume for your accommodation. You're right, I need to travel more.
    • Do none of you go abroad.  Tourist taxes are really common in continental Europe and do vary a lot city by city. They are collected by the hotels/rental apartments. They are usually a  tiny part of your holiday costs.  In Narbonne recently we paid €1.30 per person per night.  The next town we went to charge 80 cents per person per night. By comparison Cologne is 5% of your accomodation.
    • Hey Sue, I was wrong - I don't think it would just be for foreign tourists. So yeah I assume that, if someone lives in Lewisham and wants to say the night in southwark, they'd pay a levy.  The hotels wouldn't need to vet anyone's address or passports - the levy is automatically added on top of the bill by every hotel / BnB / hostel and passed on to Southwark. So basically, you're paying an extra two quid a night, or whatever, to stay in this borough.  It's a great way to drive footfall... to the other London boroughs.  https://www.ukpropertyaccountants.co.uk/uk-tourist-tax-exploring-the-rise-of-visitor-levies-and-foreign-property-charges/
    • Pretty much, Sue, yeah. It's the perennial, knotty problem of imposing a tax and balancing that with the cost of collecting it.  The famous one was the dog licence - I think it was 37 1/2 pence when it was abolished, but the revenue didn't' come close to covering the administration costs. As much I'd love to have a Stasi patrolling the South Bank, looking for mullet haircuts, unshaven armpits, overly expressive hand movements and red Kicker shoes, I'm afraid your modern Continental is almost indistinguishable from your modern Londoner. That's Schengen for you. So you couldn't justify it from an ROI point of view, really. This scheme seems a pretty good idea, overall. It's not perfect, but it's cheap to implement and takes some tax burden off Southwark residents.   'The Man' has got wise to this. It's got bad juju now. If you're looking to rinse medium to large amounts of small denomination notes, there are far better ways. Please drop me a direct message if you'd like to discuss this matter further.   Kind Regards  Dave
