Tony - It is probably beyond you to read properly into this subject, and to appreciate the worthlessness of terms such as "race" and "black" in relation to the phenomena of certain groups appearing to be better at certain events than other. It is difficult to enter into a conversation on this issue with someone who takes such a simplistic and frankly suspicious framework of analysis (see your ludicourus and frankly offensive schoolboy experiment). A few minutes will show you that this is (as a previous poster explained very cogently) a deeply complex area where the science is not at all settled. There is in fact a University Department dedicated to the study of East African endurance athletes (try Googling "Yannis Pitsiladis"); and the evidence emerging out of there about the complex relationship between athletic performance and genes, environment and culture demonstrate that your simplistic approach to this issue is utterly risible).

....Which roughly translates(ignoring the ridiculously patronising tone) that you and your (now) invisible friend haven't got a scooby-doo(tu)

btw: Oh! DO explain..what is "offensive"about someone hypothetically (based on their knowledge and/or experience) or literally, doing a test to see if different Groups do have differences(in general-with exceptions) is it the possible potential results that are "beyond you " and your comprehension to realise that there might, just might,be differences between Groups of people???

Just a footnote:Isn't extraordinary that anyone who has a different view or opinion to the one I proferred has a total incapacity to express that view without a condescending, patronising or "oh! so superior" manner! I was naturally civil, pleasant and polite during all our communications.

What a shame that you were not able to do likewise.

Actually taper,as like the Prodigal Son,you have returneth allow me to "patronise" you,in return.

I'm going to try a revolutionary concept, foolish I know, but here goes....I'm going to ask you, directly, a straightforward, simple question that you can easily reply to which is NOT "beyond you"...

Do you think(as a Group) that Black people are better Dancers than White people?

"Do you think(as a Group) that Black people are better Dancers than White people?"

Sorry, remind me. were we making huge generalisations regards supposed 'groups' (thus far defined as blacks and whites). Or are we saying that those supposed groups can produce representatives among the top 3 performers at [enter activity here] more often the other group?

Just for clarification you understand.

I personally think that Spaniards are infinitely better dancers than the English, until such time as you put any house music on, at which point they seemingly lose all sense of rhythm entirely. Don't know where that all fits in though.

....So do you think Black British People of Caribbean origin have more "natural" rhythm than White Brits?(as a Group with exceptions either way?)...

I thought you were asking about "Black people", Tony.

Not all "British people of Caribbean origin" are "Black". Some are "White", some are "Indian", "Chinese", "Arabic" and so on. Or a mixture.

Last time I went to the ballet, the overwhelming majority of the dancers were "White" - and they were very good dancers. Some seemed almost "born to dance".

"Not all "British people of Caribbean origin"

Very good point, my own mum's Kittian and white (Scottish/German half breed). What with my dad being Spanish, what blimmin' Race am I?

We won't even get started on LozzyLoz, I haven't got enough time to describe him before I shoot off to Ireland to get married (Oh my God, my poor kids, really confused)

...I realise that BJL which is why in my next post of "2.46" three minutes after the one you have quoted I,specifically, said BLACK British of Caribbean origin.....(tu)

Thanks, Tony - that's much clearer.

But, wait a minute - do you mean really, really "black" people? Not the people who are sort of "dark brown" or "mid brown" or "light brown" or... Like this:

And what about those "mixed race" people? Are they "Black" or "White"?

....I was being ironic Jah Lush!,,,,it was my "intention" at the time to be "my last word" until others revived the thread, many with questions directly to me hence the continuation.

    • By now you’ve hopefully seen that our main demonstration against Trump’s state visit is in London on Wednesday. Many of you have also asked, though, about how you can help ‘welcome’ Donald Trump to Windsor when he arrives there tomorrow (Tuesday) evening. So here’s the plan: We’re asking you to come and line Windsor High Street tomorrow in a peaceful, static protest.  Time: 6pm, Tue 16 Sept Location: Assemble outside Windsor Parish Church, High St, Windsor SL4 1LS and then spread out along the High Street. Grab some cardboard and a pen and make a homemade sign to show Donald Trump and his supporters what you think of them!  The world’s media will be in Windsor to cover the state visit, so showing visually that he is not welcome will send an important message far and wide. If you are coming then please join this Signal chat group for important updates.     Protest safety Please buddy up and come with someone else You have a right to peacefully demonstrate, but we are expecting a high police presence. Remain non-violent and non-confrontational, and do not talk to the police. It may be better to dress inconspicuously, not like an ‘activist’ We plan on ending at 7.30pm. Please leave in groups of 5–10 and make sure you have a bust card This action is entirely legal but we still recommend that you read this key advice when going on a protest to know your rights. Remember:  No comment No personal details Ask ‘under what power?’ No duty solicitor Don’t accept a caution Here is the protest support line: 07946 541 511 and here is more information on Stop & Search under the Public Order Act.   Thank you for being part of the movement against Trump. In solidarity, Stop Trump Coalition
