I haven't been up NXrd mkt in a couple of weeks or so - mainly because of the absence of Guy Sparkes' van - but I like the little Italian stall when it's there, and the Blackbird bread & cakes, and a couple of other foody ones - okay so it's more a deli-come-foodcourt-come-secondhandstuff kind of market but it's a pretty dull end of the street the rest of the week.

Every post you have a POP at Foxy. this one ..

the Olivia Colman post to name just 2 in the last couple of days.

And you have the nerve to call me tedious.

You seem to spend so much of your time searching every thread for Foxy posts.

Is your life really that boring that you have nothing positive to say yourself.

Or even something negative. Do you have your own opinion on anything...other than Foxy.

Foxy is out on the Lane every night..Instead of hiding behind your PC perhaps you should pop

along and introduce yourself.

Do you know what I find really tedious?

The anti-Foxy brigade continually slagging him off at every opportunity.

Although Foxy sometimes get things wrong & is sometimes miserable, I have to say that in my opinion he is probably the most genuine and helpful person on this forum.

Pity that everyone else chooses to concentrate on the negativity rather than the positive.

more generally, fwiw, we get a lot of the stuff we need from the NXRd market - cheese, bread, cake, pasta, meat (if Mr Sparks is there), dogfood and salad from the stall for Saturday lunch. It's all excellent quality stuff and at a decent price.

We've got a load of stuff from the plant stall, in the right season, and from the furniture stall as well. The book stall run by Rye books is great. This Christmas, we preferred to spend our money locally and got a lot of our presents from the market - all of them were much appreciated by non-ED folk.

And even if we were into over-priced cupcakes, we could get them from NXRd market. So, we don't think it's bad at all.

    • At the time of posting previously, we had no idea of the dates we would be having the children. The maths place - you pay for a course of lessons . The coding session would be good but you need to book well in advance. Also grandson has been doing coding since 6 years old. He now has a 'mentoring role' at his primary school as his knowledge of this subject is years above his chronological age. Dates are still up in the air as their father is trying to juggle leave from a new job in the north of the country.
    • why not have a pasty shop - we could have Cornish pasties, Jamaican patties, empanadas from all the different regions.... I like all three.  I'm still going to support the Chacarero family business, as I don't support chains, just as I don't buy anything from Gail's, Nero, Starbucks etc.
    • Thought it had been a fish and chip shop at one time?
    • Try Gentrification, those with more money than sense who constantly want something different, when pie and mash isn't good enough for them.  "Argentinian Cornish pasties" give3 me a proper Cornish pastie any day of the week, at least I'd be supporting something traditionally British.   ps. tin hat at the ready........................🤣
