He loved it in the park and in the garden and actually still plays on it now aged nearly 5!

Also we got our youngest one of these - http://www.tesco.com/direct/chillafish-bunzi-2-in-1-balance-bike-green/747-0476.prd - again fun n garden park and in the house!

I don't really like those smart trikes - it seems to take quite a while before they can actually use pedals....

we have a smart trike and it doesn't get loads of use, the cant really peddal for ages. We have ones of these toddle bikes and love it. Light so toddler can carry it, stable with 4 wheels to get on and off and narrow enought to make getting toddlers leg over easy. Scooting around the house and we recently started taking it to the park.

We bought a smart trike for our son's 1st birthday. It has been used about twice and then left out in the garden.

It was hard to steer as the long steering pole was not very secure/steady, hard for little feet to peddle and then as soon as my son turned 2 he got a micro scooter which he was never off.

I often say it has been the biggest waste of money ever.

I agree smart trikes are a total waste of money, they can't pedal them at that age and by the time they can they really want a micro scooter as jollymummy says. They are hard to steer for the parent, even the '5 in 1' Mothercare ones with better steering. We bought one, used it just a couple of times, sold it. There was a thread on this a while ago with lots of people saying they had found the same.

    • There’s a couple of Gov petitions going on in relation to fireworks at the moment but this one is for banning them entirely except organised displays if anyone wants to sign. This is the only sensible way forward in my view. No one should be able to let them off in gardens or anywhere like that, it’s crazy. I am surprised some of you have said it hasn’t been as bad this year. I live near DKH Saino and it’s been absolutely terrible my way for days. This petition gained about 20,000 just in the last day or so so clearly the appetite is there! https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/732559
    • I'd have thought they could use some of  their income from hiring out a large part of Brockwell Park in the summer (therefore, as I understand it, preventing local residents from using much of it) to put on a firework display there  in the autumn which might somewhat make up to those residents for the previous loss of use of the park. And also generate goodwill.

Care to share with the rest of us where  your particular interest in libraries comes from? Do you work in one of them?
