I was walking back from the shops on Sunday evening

and went past the cafe next to the DVD store, near

Palmerston pub.

I saw down some stairs on the lower floor, a place

called 'The Dream Machine' open... with some music

coming out

Is it a bar? Or a cafe? Has anyone been in there?

If you do a search for "dream machine" on the forum you will find the owners post on here regularly - as well as selling music they also host live music and had a great launch party in the constitutional hall as well.

I have however made a mistake re: John the owner. In the past I compared him to the latest Mike Myers film - when in actual fact he IS Warren Ellis from the Bad Seeds/Dirty Three

I think what Mr people skills is trying to say is, it is normally open just go down and push on the door and that the music is eclectic but tends towards the underground of various genres.

Hi TillieTrotter, I met you at the Drum the other night when we were singing our favourite David Essex songs!!!!

I have a whole load of albums I can take down to the dream machine but does anyone know how much most albums are worth?

David Essex!!!! Ye Gods! I was in there the other night too with the lovely Tillie Trotter. I must have missed that bit and thank the Lord for that. I would have run screaming from the building with my hands over my ears.

Joey2, just pop into the Dream Machine and tell them you've got some albums you'd like to get rid of and I'm sure they'll be able to tell you what you can do with them if they can't get rid of them themselves.

I met John (I think that's his name) the owner of Dream machine and told him I'd bring my records down but just wanted a rough idea of what kind of fortune I'll be making from my albums! Probably not much as there aren't any David Essex albums

Sorry Joey2 but I'm terrible with names but I never forget a face. Introduce yourself to me again next time I'm in there and I'll probably forget who you are again the next time we meet. It's nothing personal. I think you'll find it's called alcoholic amnesia. The Drum seems to have that affect on me.
