Damp proof specialist

Can anyone recommend a damp and timber specialist please? I am in the process of buying a house and the survey has comeback stating there is damp. I need to get estimates and a report. I would be grateful for any recommendations. There are a few other issues as well such as bearing wall being removed and it would appear that the support maybe inadequate.

Before you hand over large sums of money for some patent remedy, I suggest that you look for the source of the damp and get that sorted out. Could well be much more effective, and certainly cheaper!

(It might be an idea to ask the surveyor where he/she thinks the damp is coming from)
