hello everyone!

latecomer here -- but hello! I'm Emma, recently moved to nunhead from Copenhagen (where our first son, now two and a half, was born). We welcomed our second son, Noam, two weeks ago today - he was born at home, very cool experience. if there's any space at the table still, I'd be delighted to come along to a meetup or two! I'm free the 20th of May for sure, and would also be happy to take private messages and arrange other meetings with folks recently returned to newborn-care-land. I'll be working some from September but have a pretty relaxed summer to look forward to.

cheers! - Emma 07581145083

Hi all

just came across this thread faffing around on the forum... We moved to nunhead three weeks ago and I'd love to meet some local mums. I have a boy who is almost 2 and my 2nd baby is due 1st August. would it be ok for me to join you guys on 20th May?

Best, Rosalie

  • 2 weeks later...

Lovely meeting all of you yesterday. I wanted to pick your brains on the double buggy question. I guess the options are:

- baby in pram and buggy board for toddler

- toddler in buggy and baby in sling

- fork out ?600+ on a double buggy (and if so which one???)

Would be great to hear what yu are planning to do...

Hopefully see you all soon,

Rosalie

I will do a combination of toddler in the buggy and baby in a sling plus a double buggy. The sling will be a godsend but there will be times when I want to leave the baby asleep in the pram so I don't think the sling is practical all the time. I have heard mixed things about buggy boards. i.e some toddlers don't get on with them and they make the buggy really heavy to push

I have brought a second hand mountain buggy duet. I really wanted a side by side one and this is the narrowest one of the market. If Flo was gonna be older maybe I could get any without a double.

I'm hoping to do some slinging of baby and maclaren for toddler but given poss CS and nappage have also got a second hand P&T from the forum. (Stephanie's too young for a buggy board though) Also still have our M&P urbo pram so may use that & reins for Stephanie if she's walking more for V local trips!

    • But we’re not in Canada so why celebrate their recent election? Wasn’t their winner our Bank of England director up until his defection to his homeland of Canada? He caused chaos  in this country with his put down of everything British and his many dismal words about the effects of Brexit on this country.
    • I expect that they consider it should be a free choice what to do with your waste, and that segregating it is a waste of money, no doubt it's all a woke conspiracy.  I expect that others are more up to speed with Reform policies. I should have asked Nigel when I was drinking with him.  Well within the vicinity of him in Westminster pubs a couple of times.
    • Let's see how a Leader and party that thrive on division and demonising elements of our society actually do when they have to deliver. Let's hope that the two main parties don't consider that the best way to fight Reform is to become like then. Even less reason to visit the small town where I grew up.  Not a cause for any joy or celebration. Happy to celebrate the Canadian result.
    • The Reform Party has surely taken the Conservatives and Labour by surprise? I’ve been a Conservative voter since the age of 18 and voted for them in the General Election last Summer. Sadly Labour were elected but their policies on so many issues have been their downfall as they did not stick to them.
