This is my debut post after moving to ED last month so let me start by saying hello to all.

I am looking to join a gym and the research so far seems to lean towards either JAGS, Fusion or Canons at London Bridge. I have checked out JAGS and ESPH and the latter was way too expensive considering it doesn't have a pool or any obvious reason to pay double. JAGS does seem a bit small in terms of its fitness area and seems to have limited free-weights. Does anyone on here go to JAGS, and if so can you tell me what the classes are like and any general comments?

The only other gym that seems to be nearby is Fusion and this seems to have mixed reviews.

Alternatively if I can't decide I will stick with Canons at London Bridge, but I would like to hear the views of this MB before I decide.

Thanks! :D

    • As the days shorten having evening fireworks for e.g. birthday parties becomes more realistic, the idea that fireworks is only about Guy Fawkes day or New Year's Eve is not a rule. I personally do not like fireworks, but other do, and I would see no reason to stop other's pleasure. I am sure the local Puritans will object, and there are issues about disturbing wild life with unexpected noise. But I'm in favour of simple pleasures. And many do like fireworks.

    • Most churches rent out halls for children's' parties but rarely adult parties, Christ Church only does afternoon parties,   The East Dulwich Community centre hires out halls to 9 pm only and all music needs to be on a sound restrictor as is in a residential area. St Johns with St Clements have a small hall but not sure if they allow adult parties. Nunhead Green has a newish community centre with a couple of different size halls. Most places seem to charge around £40 ph  with a deposit of £100/200 (returned if no damage or excess cleaning needed.
