Where to watch the Scotland Match???

The Bun House in Peckham used to be run by Scots - no longer if they still do. Used to be a bit rough, but not too bad.

ED is full of one dinemsional plastic football supporters and when Ingerland are playing, they swap the nylon of their adopted NW teams for the the red tat of England.Until They are cruelly disappointed. again. then they forget about it until the next big game/ finals are showing and their hearts beat with the blooded patriotism of the deluded & the bars echo with cries of Rooney or whoever the gutter press are lionisng in their latest jingoistic tirades.Everyone becomes an expert on the attacking potential of Belarus, despite never having heard of the Stalinist semi-rogue statelet in the cul de sac of their lives

ED is crap for watching Scotland on the whole, but you do see it sometimes when the mightly Ingerkand have an evening kick off and the pub sees a possible slot in the dead early afternoon , such as the EDT, and Scotland have a 3PM game, but dont bet on it.

The Hootenanny in Brixton ( ex Prince regent IIRC ) is a Scots pub that is probabably the best in SE LOndon when a game is on, but best avoided at other times.

Cheers mate, might try the EDT as I've just noticed that the Scotland game kicks off at 3pm and England aren't playin 'til 5.15.

Plus, I'm sure I've heard a few familiar accents in the EDT, so I might not be the only one tryin to get them to show it!

I'd come and join you roygbiv but think I'll be up in the that day myself breathing fresh air and getting a decent Haggis supper for the first time in 6 months.

There are a few of us domiciled in ED, will try the EDT on saturday with a few of the clan. Hoots gets packed and last time I was there they had very few staff on so we ended up havig to take a kerry oot in with us. You can take the Scots out of Scotland but...........

You should never trust government stats, Ted. They probably counted the (temporary) population surge due to the Edinburgh Festival, just to get the figures up.

Bob, often times I have been told by a native of that City that they prefer even the English to their wannabe counterparts in the Athens of the North.

I put this down to nothing more than their love of the Glasgow banter, and respond in kind. It rarely fails to provoke a warm response.

The Hoot will be jumping but it would be nice to get served and avoid the trudge back home. if the EDT have it on I'll certainly be up for joining the cluster. It would be good to get enough folk to warrant someone locally showing our games on a regular basis. Argentina game on Nov. 19 is also on Sky. Anyway, see yoos on Saturday. I'll be dressed head to toe in apprehension.

I think it will be a decent game - the Norwegians are alright. And I have stuck a tenner on Faddie to get one.
