not a massive room no bob, but that end of the main bar combined with the ante-room should be sufficiently away from the music to be confortable for everyone

Getting there is easy - I normally cut down from top of DKH, and it's a 3 minute walk from there - so any bus that takes you up or down DKH should be fine (and more frequent than a P13!)

Blimey, you don't need to get a bus!

Walk up to East Dulwich Station, cross the road, walk a little way up Dog Kennel Hill, turn right through the estate, right at the top, left into Ivanhoe Road - it's a five to ten minute walk from Goose Green :)

Eh? It's, erm, a road which runs through the estate on Dog Kennel Hill, yes.

If you don't want to mix with the riff-raff :-S you can take the next road on the right instead, but I do it on my own every Goose night at Hoopers with no problem, last time in the dark :-S

Edited to say: People who live on council estates don't bite, you know.

A family stuff? As in an eating marathon? :)) Enjoy :))

I don't actually live on one, Brendan, so I can't speak for myself :)

Why is this thread always in the lounge, rather than in "What's on"??

I never knew about the forum drinks for ages because I never went into the lounge section, and I'm sure a lot of other forum readers don't either :-S

I only found out about the drinks because there was a reference to them on another thread in another section.

Haven't we had this discussion before? It's always been in The Lounge - don't know why but it seems that most people find it ok here. I would have thought more people look in The Lounge than look at the What's On section. But if people choose not to look in one section it's likely that they will miss quite a few things.

I know a lot of people who use the forum to find out what's going on in East Dulwich, not to "relax and chat" as the description of the lounge section says.

Of course people find this thread OK here, because they're the ones who use the lounge!

Those who don't use the lounge won't know the thread exists, so they won't know whether it's OK here or not!

What other "quite a few things" would they miss in the lounge? The song game, jokes, rants .... busy people don't have time for all that (unless like me they're looking for any excuse not to get on with their work :) )

    • There's quite a difference between going for a run around the footpaths and trying to sit quietly for an afternoon in a wide, grassy area and enjoying the peace & nature. The other two grassy areas in the park are used for sports, and both had barriered trackway running through them. The Parkrun had to be cancelled for at least three weeks, iirc. I'm concerned by your continued reference to "the rye" - the event is held in the park, not on the rye (common). There is a big difference, despite the organisers and council artificially amalgamating the whole area when trying to convince everyone that it's only a small area that is closed off. The railings & gates enclosing the park are a big clue...
    • So have you cancelled your contract with InPost / Yodel now? If so, that's probably caused hundreds of parcels to be stuck in limbo, as they've said to me before that they can't redirect them to a different store. I have a parcel that was refused by you twice, the last time on 5/12, and since then there's been no updates, despite me calling them 3 times. They just say it's being investigated, but if they now can't physically deliver to you then that is obviously the issue. So much for shopping for Christmas presents early, looks like I'll never get them now.
    • I thought I noticed the shop being redecorated the other day when I passed. Also the old Romeo Jones had some works going on, I think
    • Leon came to sort out a lighting issue for us last week.  He quickly diagnosed the problem and gave clear, detailed advice about how to avoid in future.  Would highly recommend him.
