Reason I thought that was you was because Mrs Keef recognised the healthmatters guy, then you said you were there, and I know you're a local business man, so I put 2 and 2 together and seemingly got 5 :-S

Sweet Mr Karter,

You never introduced yourself in the EDF tent!

I am crushed.

I was the one in the white jeans and high heels, who arrived over the shoulder of that darling fireman... (mud is not good for super expensive heels). Darling Mrs Mockney bounced Freya on her knee while I scanned the environs for Ana who appeared to make off with Mikewbate...

I did indeed come into the tent and spoke with Mark and Piers. There were 4 ladies lined up behind the WI table. I think once again we must have missed each other. I did end up in a local pub with another lovely dulwichmum though. :)-D

Hey Karter,

Glad to hear that you "ended up" in good company.

Are you sure that your dulwichmum is "lovelier" than our D-Mum ?

Shame I missed those white jeans... I am sure they were fitting "tight" at the right point.... >:D<

    • I also had an awful experience there last month. The hairdresser started cutting my child’s hair before even knowing what kind of cut we wanted, and when I started to say what I would like, she said that she knows what she’s doing and just continued. They were also incredibly rude about the fact that I’d brought a buggy with me, and had no patience when my child started to get even a little distracted. Just very unfriendly.
    • Interesting take mal  Maybe the reduction in spending to 50% by the government on active travel is a sensible reaction to the expected boom not happening.  After all when money is short, why waste it on schemes that aren't being used as much as expected, thereby cutting your cloth accordingly and redirecting the money where its needed more.  You can build so much cycling inferstructure but as they say you can lead a horse to water but you can't make it drink.  Whilst more active travel is an admirable goal, if people don't want to go that route and with the weather in this country, then its hard to see it expanding much more than it has already.
    • Article is about Government enabling cycling, which would be a good thing.  Sadly Sunak doesn't like active travel and public transport and wants to win votes by appealing to hard line motorists.  His days are numbered. If you look at Johnson's manifesto he had failed on most pledges the most spectacular being delivering the benefits of Brexit.  He also failed on free cycle training for all children. Barriers to increased cycling include larger cars and poor driving standards.
    • I don't think there is much in the way of pride about running that store; I think there used to be and not so long ago. It's messy - the fruit and veg section never looks attractive.  Contrast with Lidl and Morrisons that in my experience (and I appreciate others may have had a different one) always looks much better stocked and attractively presented.  They don't seem to stock stuff that I would expect a store of that size to have - I looked for pudding rice the other week and couldn't find any and nor could the staff working there.  Is it that unusual  ? Doesn't anyone make rice pudding ? I guess not.  You have weight certain fruit and veg - I'm OK with that - but why, on a Saturday when it's going to be busy, not ensure that the scales  are all stocked with plenty of labels rather than there only be one working by 10am ? And don't get me started on so-called "Nectar prices"... It's got a dominant position and it's a cash-cow that the management don't seem to care about.
