My tubes are still blocked. Will this mysery never end? If it goes on for much longer I fear I may have to take up my Grand-Father's service revolver and do the decent thing.

I even took time to post a response, clicked post message and nowhere to be seen. My tips will be lost forever.

Back on topic, I went through a recent bout of MF. There must have been a chill in the pub I was in the night before. Woke up, unable to leave my bed. Managed to phone and leave a message that I would not be in (before 9am, of course. Was to weak to speak to the Boss).

Had to stay in bed, barely able to keep my eyes open through This Morning, followed by Loose Women. Started to feel better around 5pm, staggered to the offie for a bottle of wine, back to bed for Strictly Take Two. Ok, maybe a bit girly for ManFlu. Unfortunately, found myself in remission in the morning. Obviously, I put too much stress on my feeble bones. This lasted all week.

SMUG ALERT

I am a man. I have not had flu for years. I get a jab every year and wash my hands with Howard Hughes-like regularity. I haven't had more than a one-day cold for yonks. Get the jab and scrub up. You'll have much more of a chance of not getting the lurgy.

Either Nero isn't a real man or dare I say it he is one of those metro-sexual fellows ... my word can't have that now can we gentlemen - not getting man-flu, letting the side down and all that, tis an age old tradition older then Dear ol' Santa himself ...

therefore I propose one simple solution to people like Nero...

...BURN THE FREAK !!! (or is that for witchcraft, which he seems to be practicing with this here 'jab')

Perhaps Nero is not real chap? We only have his/her word for it. Claims of "not having Man-flu" are deeply suspect but the focus on hygiene is a clear signal of the feminine.

I may have to go back to bed, such is my suffering.

*cough cough* ladyflu chest infection *wheeze* *cough cough* going to get flu jab tomorrow...

luvpeckham - bravo btw your post had me in stitches in between blowing my nose and feeling like I was about to cough up my stomach.. I have thought about what you said and whilst it can be taken as a given I is no ladyboi I do happen to like the ladies so maybe Im getting some honorary bout of manflu!?!

Well, one thing to say about Man-Flu, is that even with it, Diet Coke still tastes like sh!t

I guess I must still be delerious to try that stuff again as it is really only brewed for the ladies to sup as they can't do alcohol without getting all light headed, feisty, foul mouthed and starting fights about 'that birds looking at you in a funny way' or 'who won the shopping match' on that there QVC station.

These, like not whingeing when we are ill, are other things you won't catch us men doing. ::o

    • There was another unprovoked attack on Monday this week on a young woman nearby (Anstey Road) at 6.45pm. Don't have any other details, it was posted on a Facebook group by her flatmate. Pretty worrying  https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1EGfDrCAST/
    • OMFG is it possible for the council to do anything without a bunch of armchair experts moaning about it? The library refurb is great news, as it's lovely but completely shagged out - the toilets don't even work reliably. Other libraries in the area will be open longer house during the closure. July is a rubbish time to begin a refurb because it's just before the entire construction sector goes on summer holiday, and it would mean delaying the work another 8 months.

    • Second time Aria has completed a plumbing job for me and both times he’s been polite. Communicative, kept to time and completed the job. He’s very helpful and tidy as well. First job was ball valve in water tank, not easy at all. He and his team were fantastic. This time kitchen tap cylinders replaced and tap tightened.  Much appreciated, Aria thank you.
