Not that I think the 'Godfathers' need defending (I like that term...) but you're being a bit cheeky, microbite. You re-start a thread that had gone quiet almost a week ago with 'I stand at a loss as to how so many people can get on my case about my thoughts and feelings' - which is pretty much asking for responses from prior posters, isn't it? - and then accuse people of ganging up on you when they reply. Come on.

I'm not attacking you personally, and I really share your horror and sadness about this situation, so I hope you won't take offence, as none is intended.

I read the small biter's last post as being a little bit "I might have blown off a lot of steam but as I don't seem to be winning this argument how about we all get along? Here for starters I'll crack a small joke"

or am I being hopelessly naive?

Looks like the mob who read (and even more scarily, listen to) The Sun will be feeling that some justice has been done.

Love the fact they are calling it a great victory for them, having called for sackings. They say that people have been "removed from posts". They fail to mention that they are suspended on full pay. HA!!!!

What really annoyed me yesterday was that this report was carried out by Ofsted! They can't even give an accurate report on a school, let alone childrens services! Why the hell were CSCI (Commission for social care inspection) not involved? They are FAR from perfect either, but at least they understand the bloody field they were inspecting!

Absolute load of trash just to keep the blood hounds quiet!

Interestingly, the new people they are putting in will have to report monthly to the secretary of state. Does this mean that if another child is killed in a flat somewhere in the middle of the night by some nasty piece of work, the secretary of state will be called upon to resign? Actually, I shouldn't even joke, as nothing would surprise me in this country. I am surprised we're not bringing back hanging.

Heard on the news yesterday that since this case, the applications to remove children from their parents in to care haveincreaced by a massive amount to approx 600 a month, because Social Workers are now basically sh!tting themselves, and now feel that this is the safest (for them) course of action... Thus splitting families, and stretching resouces.

Well done UK press, give yourselves a pat on the back!

Fecking muppets!

Sorry to drag this old thread up.

Just heard on the news that Ofsted are sticking the knife back in to Haringey council. This makes me angry in 3 seperate ways.

1. What the f**k do Ofsted know about anything?!?!?!?!?!?

2. The government are the reason councils struggle like they do, and are basically as much to blame for the failings IMO.

3. The constant press coverage of this case is awful, and who the hell wants to go and take a job in Haringey now!

I'm not saying Haringey don't deserve a bit of a kick in the arse, but the way this entire case has been handled and reported is a really sad reflection on this country, and the tabloid needs of the masses!

    • Yes, there have been goslings this year ❤️
    • I know one of the Peckham Rye Egyptian geese sadly lost its mate a few years ago. There now seems to be a pair with goslings from two different hatchings. But, there is a solitary Greylag goose, did this ever have a mate? Also, do the Canada geese ever have offspring? I have not seen any this year?
    • At least there were still two adult geese  with them. Hopefully they reached somewhere green and safe. Well done to the people who stopped the traffic for them to cross!  I recently read a very sad story of a similar goose family where one of the parents had been run over by a car, and the other goose and the goslings were standing at the side of the road wailing 😭
    • Walking in the park today I was struck by how much bigger the footprint of the event looks and how that will impact the park. I guess it is only when you see it all being cordoned off that you realise. It feels like all the playing fields will be impacted to some extent. There is another area  being cordoned off at the other end of the park, close to Harris Girls. Does anyone know if this is temporary and to do with the event delivery juggernauts (so green, so environmentally friendly) or something unrelated?
