I know there is a lot of cat lovers both in East Dulwich & on this Forum.

Looking for advise...

Whats the best flee treatment to go for ?

Online there is mixed reviews on all the products & brands. Some people say Frontline is great, others say its over priced and that the cheap stuff is just as good.

Any advise is much appreciated.

Do not use Bob Martin! I bought some for my cat, administered it, read online reviews and promptly threw my cat into the shower and washed it off him much to his discontent. The reviews seem to indicate that people have used it on their animals and have had their cats having fits and seizures with most of them dying horribly! I have no idea whetehr these are authentic or some rival company posting loads of fake reviews but I can tell you that my friend?s cat had a seizure which was horrible and died in my arms and she had been treated with Bob Martin!

I took mine to the vet on Lordship lane and got some prescription ones from there and he has been fine and flea free!

Advocate does more than just fleas - probably why it is a little bit more expensive but I feel its reliable. One of our cats gets a skin reaction to some bites which we are not sure of even though she has not got fleas and this is the only product that calms her skin down and helps her. I think it also treats worms too and it also treats ear mites. A good all in one.

Advocate does NOT prevent or treat ticks (unfortunately)

I know because I too use it for my cats. The only effective

treatment for ticks as far as I know is Frontline, so if

your cats are unfortunate enough to get ticks, as mine have done

in the past, you will have to use Frontline too at least for a few

months until they are clear.

    • I don't think a single specific URL is easily doable.  When you enter a search the system presents the result without any of one's search parameters added to the URL.  So I suggest you go to https://planning.southwark.gov.uk/online-applications/search.do?action=advanced where you just need to enter the address -- use SE22 8EW -- and the  Date Received start date.  I used 1/1/2025.  The three Tesco applications, all minor things, were all made in May.  The Simple search that I'd done previously had no time limit, and didn't include anything else that might have been from Tesco in the last two years. Incidentally, when I searched on the address 29-35 Lordship Lane it did not pick up the Tesco applications, which were held as 29 - 35 Lordship Lane Grrr!
