Louisa
I've had better service in so called rough and rowdy pubs than I have in this place, by a long way. Louisa. Otta
Rowdy is not a word I would ever use to describe the dog.Seems like silly timing, I imagine they do a good trade in the summer months, as Jah says, September / October would seem to make more sense. Jah Lush
I went in there on Sunday afternoon and was served immediately. I was shocked I can tell you (and in the small bar too). Later on I went in and bought a round of drinks in the main bar and they repeated the trick. I couldn't believe it. That's rarely happened in the 40 years I've been going in there. I'm still in shock. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/46610-the-dog/page/2/#findComment-763533 Share on other sites

jimbo1964
If it stops being a pub in at least some capacity it leaves a huge area unpubbed (new word). Especially with no Half Moon or Grove Tavern. Hopefully it will. I've been to plenty of boutique hotels that retain a very serviceable pub/bar (eg Seaview on Isle of Wight, George in Rye). Otherwise Dulwich Village really is the town with no cheer. Otta
I would be very very surprised if it closes as a pub altogether. So is The Half Moon closed then? I thought it was back up and running with new owners. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/46610-the-dog/page/2/#findComment-763586 Share on other sites
dumpertruck
THM is extremely shut. Weeds growing in the front & everything. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/46610-the-dog/page/2/#findComment-763591 Share on other sites
Otta
That sucks, great space. I don't really find myself in the HH area these days, but have fond memories of gigs at the HM. Jeremy
The venue at the back of the half moon was a good space... but the pub itself has/had a terrible layout. runningmann
As long as I can get my usual pint of cool Guinness I'll be a happy camper! Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/46610-the-dog/page/2/#findComment-764927 Share on other sites
