LouiseC
The Gowlett seems to have sadly replaced theirs with a bar billiards table. While not technically East Dulwich, the closest ones I'm aware of are at Prince Albert on Bellenden Rd and the Joiners in Camberwell. If you find ny closer, let me know! Otta
Fox's on Kirkdale has one if you wanted a short bus ride to Sydenham. THINK The Bricklayers on Dartmouth Road has one but not 100% sure about that. LouiseC
Yes Otta, it was a sad day. We have voiced our protests but alas I think it is gone, never to return... Alan Medic
Thanks for all the suggestions. However I didn?t ask probably the more important question. Is there an etiquette involved in how long you might use a table for? I seemed to remember a long time ago anyone could come along and put their 50p down or whatever it was and challenge the winner of the game on the table. This would defeat the purpose for which I might need a table. That is, to have a round robin event between 3 or 4 of us. Help-Ma-Boab
Canavans on Rye Lane might suit. It has a bar and you can book tables I seem to recallAlan Medic Wrote:-------------------------------------------------------> Thanks for all the suggestions. Otta
Yeah if you want it guaranteed for a while I'd go to a proper pool/snooker club. Alan Medic
So what IS the etiquette? I'm curious. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/46993-which-pubs-in-ed-have-a-pool-table-if-any/#findComment-766379 Share on other sites
Otta
Depends on the place I think. In some places you put your money down and when it gets to you the table is yours. In others you'll have to knock the winner off, and inevitably some cunt will be there all day. Help-Ma-Boab
Always thought it was winner stays on. I get bored after one game anyhow so never affected me.If I wanted a table to masel for a couple hours I'd book it at Canavans though, just not to get embroiled in any internal pub politics, that have the potential to escalate into, " That's the rules round these parts, and aye, 2 shots DO carry"..,????
