Pathetic Bar Staff in the Rye

What is with the bar staff? 5 staff behind a relatively small bar and it takes 20mins to get served. They don't seem to be able to operate above the speed of snails pace. How are they not fired for being so slow, lazy and quite clearly unable to handle more than 1 task/ take more than 1 order at a time. Having worked in a bar for years it's so frustrating to see people so poor at their job!

I agree, a lot of the pubs around SE22 have really slow bar staff.

Hey onthemove123. Yes I will agree that SE22 aren't the quickest but at least they are attentive & friendly in most the pubs unlike my experience on Sat night.

I forgive a lot about the Rye due to that amazing beer garden. Best in the area by a looooong way. Agree that service can be variable though.

Bar staff at the Clockhouse are the BEST! It's like being in the Queen Vic, some nights.

Only bigger beer garden I can think of is The Griffin in Whetstone

Recently have noticed the bar is a bit of a melee at the front. Has it been 'discovered'/

Agree. Love the beer garden but the service ain't great. I also hate the interior since the refurbishment. It has the soul of a MacDonald's.

Still talking about The Rye? The garden's not that big. Fox On The Hill's bigger. Maybe The Herne too.
