They are just carrying out a refurb but it's taking longer than they originally anticipated. I am not sure the staff were given much notice as I was halfway through a course of treatment when I was notified of the closure. I'm not best pleased that I'm now having to wait an additional couple of weeks to finish the treatment.

It's 15th September and Townley Road dentist still seems to be closed, no answer message and the place looks abandoned. I have had to find another dentist in an emergency as a crown that was fitted by them at over ?500 has come out after 2 months, the other dentist was very scathing about the poor quality of work and I might have to have a new one. How do I complain about this dental practice which seems to have vanished?

I have previously complained to NHS England about my GP practice and felt it was worthwhile as action was taken as a direct result. If the dentist is an NHS dentist you can complain to them too...

I found the easiest way was to call them to lodge a complaint on 0300 311 22 33

I have not been a patient at this practise but accompanied a very nervous friend there a couple of months ago.

Rather than it being a calm place, the [?]owner was showing round the builders, letting them bang on walls outside treatment rooms, talking loudly about refurb plans whilst in the waiting room , ignoring patients etc and it all seemed very inappropriate. It clearly wasn't patients first and , from what everyone is saying here, it still looks like that.

I have been with this dentist for 25 years and they have been great. They we're let down by the last owner of the practice but seemed to be making a comeback which is why it's so strange that they have not kept patients better informed. I tried to phone today and still got no answer- anyone else got any updates?

    • Hi there,  Looking for 10-12 jars (to start with) of local honey to fill a small section of a deli space in my work canteen. Please get in touch if you know of any community projects/small scale productions Cheers
    • Yeah, it did work out in the end, but it was way more stressful and expensive than it needed to be. He lost money. He had higher offers early on, but those buyers pulled out because of all the delays. On top of that, he spent a fortune on legal fees trying to get the neighbour to sign off on the freehold transfer. It dragged on for ages. In the end, he was lucky the final buyer stuck with it, but the price was lower, and the whole thing left a bad taste. A lesson learned. Share of freehold can be a real nightmare if the other owners aren’t cooperative. You’ve got to be 100 per cent sure everyone’s reasonable, otherwise it’s just not worth the hassle.
    • It's quite a steep step from memory. The ramp would have to be quite a few feet long to make the angle shallow enough to be safe. Maybe I'm wrong - not an expert.
    • really, it's the fact that a chain is muscling in when there is already one in a small area - if it was just a chain coming to a new area, it's a little different
