Yes I agree, however 'world class' depends on who exactly is around to reign the HW divn.

After the Klitschkos are gone I don't see any obvious HW kings, so Helenius, Povetkin, Fury may well be the new world class, albeit a pale impression of earlier eras !

Derek Chisora is to fight Robert Helenius on Dec 3rd. I've been banging-on about Helenius for a while on here.

Chisora has skills to trouble RH but if he comes in overweight like he did for Fury (heaven knows why he did that - ridiculous approach to boxing) it'll be a painful night for him.

RH has fought far better opposition than Derek and is better conditioned (though still not very conditioned), I see this being a 6 TKO to the Finland man.

Tyson Fury didn't look great at the weekend did he ? He got dropped and looked defenceless against huge, predictable, swinging haymakers. Ok he got the win a round after being knocked over, which shows some grit, but against the world contenders I'd say right now he's going to be in trouble. He should refrain from calling-out the Klitschkos if he's serious, they'd have him for breakfast all day long. I suggest he sticks to European and Commonwealth or American top 20-30 boxers and settles his skills down.

His fast left jab/crushing overhand right combo will only take him so far.

I hear Breidis Prescott got a hiding from Alvarado, but only after being the one giving out the pain initially, only to tire against a man who doesn't recognise that you're meant to lose when battered.

I think this was probably the most widely known "secret" in boxing currently. The heavyweight division is farcical at the moment.

It's not a done deal yet and Haye has limited bargaining power, but, of the options Vitali has, Haye somehow is still the most attractive in terms of generating interest. This would probably be less so if the last fight haye lost wasn't against Vitali's brother.

This weekend there is far more interesting action, involving 3x Brits who're all underdogs.

John Murray, Dereck Chisora, Martin Murray are all fighting and I think it's covered on BoxNation for a ?10er.

Pain in the ass if you're with Virgin as it's unclear whether you'll be able to access it yet.

Dereck Chisora fights for the vacant European heavyweight crown against Robert Helenius.

I think RH gets this, he's faced better opposition the DC.

John Murray fights for the WBA lightweight crown against Brandon Rios in New York.

Mitchell showed that Murray can be defeated, Murray is hard as nails but that's not enough at top-contender level.

Martin Murray fights for Felix Sturm?s WBA middleweight crown in Germany.

Sturm may close this fight in the mid rounds, his short fast hands will be difficult to avoid.

On another note did anyone see the Kermit Cintron v Canelo Alvarez contest ?

That Alvarez is one gifted kid. Very heavy hands. Cintron is too light a fighter before the weight and paid for it.

Yeah I reckon, though of the three, if Derek can be better conditioned and has worked on his stamina he could (just conceivably) upset Helenius. He was pretty close to having Fury out of there, but gassed it when it counted.

I hear Beibut Shumenov is saying in the media that he's heard everyone say they want to fight him and he'll take anybody on, especially Nathan Cleverly, but as yet he's received no 'official' offers. So basically there's nothing doing ! Shumenov v Cleverly is one I've fancied seeing for some time.

    • Totally agree regarding not supporting chains. Gail’s was fine but last time I went in Feb this year, actually walked out Fayetteville looking at menu and waiting 15 minutes to even get glass of water and not busy at all. Staff gone down hill - sooner it goes the better… Always prefer to support non chains - so many lovely places with good food to choose from with pleasant staff who know about customer service and sadly, non English which says a lot for our culture, pubs are also becoming abit of a hit and miss affair but maybe just unlucky. At the end of the day all about the chef. Still abit unclear where new place is located - is it down the road from Goose Green where parade of shops are before Peckham Rye?
    • Surely only where the local businesses offer clear advantages, otherwise you are rewarding what should be failure. I want to be served by a better bakery than Gail's, not a worse but local independent one. Certainly give a local independent some time to get the offer right, but don't buy goods which are worse and or more expensive just because the outlet isn't a chain.
    • Let’s just boycott all chains in favour of local businesses.  Places like Gail’s popping up everywhere has a very damaging impact on small businesses. It’s just the same as the new empanadas place but on a bigger scale. I’ll say it a million times more, we hold the power with our choices. Let’s use our power to look after ourselves and our environment (which includes small local family businesses). And yes, I also love Chacarero.
