Hona is an acquired taste.

Would you like to acquire him?

p.s. Personally I would like to keep him as a pet, in a cage naturally, feed him, buy him new sandals or a new dufflecoat occassionally, and, in return, for his bed, board and cage he would entertain me all day with his amusing anecdotes, vivid vignettes and fabulously fertile imagination.:)

With you around as my permanent Buddy, I won't need either of these! I'll live to be 130>:D<

Your contributions are always welcome Ted Max but, we both know, Moos is more than capable of speaking up for herself, I'll await her response.

Obviously, regular users of Internet fora are aware of ambiguities and misunderstandings that can arise when a comment is made so they, often, use symbols to avoid the chance of that occurring, but as this has not happened this time, I agree it does appear an "either/or" situation as you suggest, which is why I would like some clarification from the authoress of said remark.

Haha, brilliant, really? Other users of internet forums find that certain comments so very much speak for themselves as not to require unspeakable emoticons. (still others of us find emoticons so hideous that we try to make our language speak for itself)

I wouldn't dare speak for Moos, but have to ask, seriously Tony???

And on the subject of brain fritters, I'm hungry. Anyone got any going spare?

I found a supply of cucumber relish in a pound shop in Brixton, actually it's gherkin relish by your old favourites Branston.

It's not as good as the Bix's cucumber relish which has disappeared from the shelves, it's a little too vinegary, the Bix's stuff had a nice sweetness which offset the saltiness of bacon just right.

And now I come along and find it being recommended as a condiment to accompany fried portions of my brain.

Stone me, what a carve up.

I'm having second thoughts about TLS's offer now.

It's going to have to be a very good offer, that's all I can say.

I've known many respected, intelligent Forumites be misunderstood on various Fora over the years, as some comments can be intrepreted in more than one way.

As you know it happens in life too when someone tells someone "they were only joking" ..other times they make it clear they were not joking at all.

Oh Tony, come now, you can't in all earnestness think that Moos might be accusing you of keeping people in cages?

Unless, unless, oh my, has she stumbled too close to your little secret? Come to think of it, where IS Moos, she's suddenly mysteriously very quiet...

The thing about cucumber relish is maintaining the textural integrity of the cucumber, against the mush-inducing salt and tang of the vinegar and onion. I have no idea who or what Bix was, but if they managed that in a commercial product then I mourn their passing as I would that of a friend's beloved aunt that I have never personally met.

But rethinking this, given this is your brain we're talking about Hona (85% rock 'n' roll, 15% "something in the rag trade", 5% Peroni) I'd recommend something milder. Perhaps a soothing raita.

    • Niko was recommended to me through a group chat for my road, where everybody raves about him. I soon realised why as he did an amazing job installing an outdoor tap for me. I needed it done quickly but had a hectic schedule, and Niko did everything possible to accommodate this, bringing the parts and working late on a Friday, having worked out the best solution for my maze of pipes. The tap looks great and works amazingly with good pressure. He made minimal mess and cleaned everything up, and charged me a very competitive price. On top of that he is delightful to chat to and willing to give advice on other matters. He’s a lovely man and will be my go-to for any issues in the future! Recommend to anybody in the Dulwich/ Peckham/Camberwell area!!
    • We've used Aria a couple of times - this time a tap that was causing water hammer elsewhere in the house, he replaced it and checked all was well. He was prompt, quick in his work, and charged what he said he would. Will use him again.
    • Hi I found a phone on the pavement near the bus stop half way up lordship lane opposite M&S and have handed into one of the estate agents there (KFH). Please call in there if you have lost it.
