Well for me, the lesser of two evils won. Ridiculous amount of plastic flags being displayed on merseyside and every shop had a blue window display.

Brought a smile to my face when Guus collected the cup. Glad he's leaving Chelsea though, I actually quite like him. Bring back Maureen the panto villain.

We parked on a back street last week in Liverpool and whilst our wheel was being fixed, after some scally wags had punctured a tyre, there was one house whose bay window was completely decked out in FA Cup Final club shop flags & scarves. I suppose they'll now have a special DVD out to commerate their season's success.. featuring the semi-final penalty shoot-out, the first 25 seconds yesterday and of course the defining moment when they knocked Liverpool out.. oh I forgot ITV were running adverts at the pinnacle of their season so I guess it'll have to be a youtube clip.

Commiserations to 'People's Club' ;-) Everton, but Chelski fully deserved their victory.

I'm with Anna, Hiddink is far too likeable to be the Chelski manager, give us a proper pantomine villian to boo!.. there was talk of Ancelotti maybe going to Real on Sky this morning (makes sense if Kaka is their No. 1 target), so maybe it's not a done deal, whoever it is they will need to sign a top class striker, can't see Drog staying especially if he gets a lengthy ban...

It's just been confirmed on Chelski website that Ancelotti is their new manager...boo!!!

Don't wish to upset David Carnell (much!) or the other Leeds fans hereabouts, but there's a rumour going round that Beckford is off to Sheffield United in part exchange for Bill Sharp....This is just so ridiculous, and such a bad deal for Leeds (no matter how low Sharp is valued), it may just be true...:))

Thanks for the welcome but that hasn't answered my question, or has that delightful chant come back to bite you all on the bottom. Argentina, Argentina, Argentina.

New fixtures out 17th June - but of course we'll have to wait another week afterwards before the TV stations fook about with them and have us playing on a Monday night, Sunday lunchtime etc etc.

Only prediction I'm making for next season is that Ancelotti will take the same path as Scolari, before the inevitable call is made to their spiritual son Gianfranco Zola.

You don't have to protect me Piers, but thanks anyway. If you dish it out you should be able to take it. I just think it's despicable for an English teams supporters to chant for another national side WHATEVER slant you put on it. But isn't wonderful how it's come back to haunt them. Don't you just love Messi?

    • A bit of a long shot but I'm on the lookout for a portable pop-up counter or podium.   The kind you often see on a high street, used by charities or utility companies to advertise their wares.   I've included a photo to give you the idea. I'm a peckham-based artist and am looking for one for a free (and non-profit) community art project.  It can be in any workable condition and can already have signage on it as we will remove and redecorate ourselves.    Thanks in advance, Linzie
    • No I absolutely did not - that much is clear. Have you read the latest stories about Unite, Len and the hotel in Birmingham? The UK electorate were smart enough to reject a far-left party in 2019, let's hope they are smart enough to reject a far-right party at the next election too. If not we are all doomed.
    • I would also like to add my recommendation for James.  I had taken four names of electricians from the forum - in the order I had read the reviews.  First three no response - even days later. I phoned James this morning. He answered, gave me a time, stuck to it, messaged again 15 mins before arrival.  He fixed my problem on the spot.  Sensible charge out fee. Perfect service.
    • Most recent polls for the next election suggest it will be a hung parliament, with Reform the largest party by a fair margin. But that is predicated on Reform finding around 300 candidates who are actually electable. Given the number of Reform council candidates who have had to drop out prior to or after the local elections, does that seem likely? Social media is pretty unforgiving when it comes to finding skeletons in cupboards; a retweet or a like seems enough to scupper political ambitions. A few may defect from other parties, but do you think the electorate would really vote for so many brand new MPs from a newish party?  I'm not so sure.
