Mariamadeit
Thinking of taking my son who has INSET days next week, how long would it entertain an interest nearly 5 year old? katgod
It isn't particularly hands on, not much in the way of computers to play with or things specially for kids- but it is massive, with loads of guns, old fashioned wax works and lots of ladders to climb up and down. We really liked it because it is old school and not dumbed down at all. No good with a toddler or buggy if those are considerations. Mariamadeit
For once my hubby will be taking toddler out on their own so not an issue this time, sounds perfect for what we wanted thanks! minder
The journey there and on the ship and journey back should be very interesting for a nearly 5 year old so I wouldn't worry.Used to take my children and they loved it. It's cold onboard but once you get going up and down stairwells, fitting into little gaps, sitting at the controls etc. it should be a good day for your son (and Dad)! BeccaL
Husband went on daughter's school trip last year (they were 8-9) and they all loved it - admittedly a bit older but got a v good report. Friend has been recommending it since kids were about 5! RichJ
Took my 4 and 2 year old boys there last month. The little one was probably a bit small but coped admirably with all the ladders and steps. Older one really enjoyed it and we were probably on board for about 90 mins. Enjoy! Mariamadeit
Thanks all, we went today and had a great time, my son really enjoyed climbing the ladders. He had a captain hat on and people kept stopping to salute him. It took a good 1.5 hours and we explored every corner though didn't stop to read any of the info. Highly recommend, and you can get tesco vouchers to pay for it too!
