Our mortgage adviser (David Jones, recommended through the forum and was excellent) suggested Suzanne McGoldrick, of Mackenzie Jones http://www.macjones.com. She was based in Chester so did the work remotely. We found her to be highly efficient and proactive and would definitely seek her out again.

Hi there

We are local estate agents and as such we have worked on conveyancing transactions with a number of local solicitors. We have found Nick Harper at Hepburns to be good - they are based in Blackwater Street just off Lordship Lane. To be clear, we do not have referral arrangements with Hepburns or any other solicitors, it just seems to us that Nick has done a professional and efficient job when we have encountered them.

Just chipping in to say we used Glazer Delmar, and while they only screwed one minor thing up during the house purchase, we had issues with communication throughout, and a subsequent title issue has been left on the shelf for weeks and weeks requiring constant calls from my side to get any kind of response. If you have limited time, I would avoid using them.
When purchasing our house we used Max Engel, http://www.maxengel.co.uk/, while they are based in Northampton we were extremely happy with them - great communication, very efficient - despite our sale and purchase being pretty complicated - and extremely friendly.

I'm sure you'll understand I don't want to divulge too much to an anonymous account on a public forum, I'd be happy to email you at your Glazer Delmar address, if you could PM me that. Thanks.

We just sold and purchased with Aletta Shaw in Bexleyheath. The solicitor was Efe Ejaife but they are all good. I found Efe and her assistant Sue very straight forward, honest and there were no hidden extras. We completed in just over 7 weeks. The final price was what was quoted at the beginning. My sister has also used them for issues around probate and was very happy. The contact details are www.alettashaw.co.uk [email protected] Tel: 0208 301 4884

Wanted to follow through on my earlier comments from Dec 2014 and say that Glazer Delmar have done a great job of sorting out the kinks in the original issues (which were to do with land title weirdness, and partly down to my oversight). Would happily use again.

    • The BBC is one of the finest, if not the finest, broadcasters in the world.  They have been admired by many across the world for their journalism.  There have been numerous arrests since their recent expose on convenience shops that cover ups for criminals - money laundering, contraband,  illegal workers and the like. By no means perfect and some of what they have done in the modern world is questionable - the website often comes across as tabloid or sensationalist, as do some of their documentaries, and at times it is full of low grade game shows, fly on the wall etc which bring the punters and money, including overseas, in but is not quality TV.  In their desperation for 'balance' they've given too much air time and credibility to some more extreme views, which contributed to Brexit and some of the rise in right wing parties.  I wish they'd say 'the convicted criminal' every time they talk about Yaxley Lenon. The programme was clumsy, why it didn't go through proper clearance including the lawyers, I don't know.  But it created zero stir at the time. Zero.  And had no impact on the election, so Trump has no case.  I hope they don't cave in like many of the US corporations and media.  Oh and well done to South Park using the small p*nis defence in ridiculing him. What I expect is as the Beeb is pretty centrist in it;s reporting in riles some of those who thrive on the toxic populism we have seen since Trump mark 1 and Brexit.  How sad.
