Two in five Britons never read a book so he is not alone.

I've read many books in the past but simply do not have the time these days.

With digital cine-photography I'm don't know if they still dim the lights.

But as soon as they do, I'm fast asleep within 5-10 mins.

Same if I try and watch a film at home.

Can you ask her again then please.

ED Picturehouse have just posted the following on FB

Wonderful people of East Dulwich!

You may have noticed that progress on the building work has been slower than expected. But we have all been working as hard as we can, and we are now pleased to announce that we will be opening our doors on ? drumroll please ? Friday 20 March. We promise it will be worth the wait!

More news soon...

So have I. But I don't like being patronised - nor indeed spoken to as if I was a small child. By way of example the previous FB item on the Picturehouse blamed the building work delay on Santa! I haven't believed in Santa since about 1957.

It's social media. Social media marketing is done by people under the age of 25. They believe that everyone else in the world is under the age of 25 too ? except for their parents and a few dribbling old people who watch "Countryfile". Even my bank talks like an excitable teenager on Facebook.

Err. No surprise . You posted a wildly optimistic opening schedule and some of us said so. There was never a change of a 2014 opening. Why pretend otherwise.

Why be so mean about it? You think they duped us all into joining by telling us it would open a mere 3 months earlier than they knew it would? What a pointless conspiracy! The building is old and being converted to a use never before imagined - I'm happy to accept they encountered unforseen obstacles and take the delay in good faith. Anyway, it's their cinema, not yours. Let them open it whenever they want. When it does, we'll go. What's the problem?

What he said, and I'm totally guilty of referring to my social media followers (I run a small biz) as 'lovely people' or whatever. It's better than 'utter w**kers of East Dulwich', although on reflection perhaps that would be more appropriate

    • It was a reactionary post and inappropriate when talking about a real case and a real person who was harmed.  London streets are generally pretty safe.  Sadly violent crime happens from time to time, as it always has.
    • Do tell, CPR Dave, what the spiteful jealous stuff is - I'm intrigued.  Agree - Burnham is a top class communicator (polar opposite of Starmer) he'd do a great job of uniting the party. I still think Wes Streeting has the edge, though I'm sure he has more enemies as well.
    • This is a huge part of the problem.   Starmer is only interested in himself, not in what is best for our country.    There's a litany of stuff he's done for spiteful jealous personal reasons which has damaged the nation enormously. Burnham would be a much better leader than of the other dross left behind when Starmer goes. To inflict a worse leader (and PM) upon us for his own selfish reasons would add to the problems and be entirely in keeping with his woeful premiership so far.
    • I heard today there was a burglary in Lacon Road yesterday evening between 20.00 - 22.00,  apparently the owners were home at the time & thieves got away with electrical items along with the owners car!  Wtf!   Anyone heard anything else?
