Hi Kat, you may have trouble with the planners if it's an additional restaurant. There's a fixed split on types of outlets on LL, so if you're replacing a previous food outlet you may be okay. You should probably check on this before advancing your plans too far!

BTW I love Vietnamese cooking, it's by far the best APac fod for me!

Louisa - Don't think I can afford to buy out the Sea cow ::o

Huguenot - It will be replacing one of the food outlet so should be OK. I'm in negotiation at the moment but they're asking silly money. I can get the same outlet in upper Street (Islington) for the same money but I live locally so I want to bring something new to the community. It's a big gamble, but hopefully there should be enough demand to justify the gamble.

What's wrong with the Sea Cow Louisa? I personally prefer it to the tatty kebab or food and wine - type stores that proliferate on LL?

Mrs Rob, Rob Jr and I go to Hoa Viet once a week - it is (easily) among our most favorite places to eat in London as the food is just fantastic every single time we visit. If you can make a spicy beef pho as good as theirs (and Pho can't, sadly) then we'll see you there...

Kat

Please please please yes!!!!

Btw Jerk Rock end of Lordship Lane is definitely on the up, Gourmet Burger Kitchen is there and always looks packed, plus there's Liquorish, posh butchers & fishmongers... Go for it. I adore Vietnamese food and would love a local place.

    • Thanks all!  KateS - boulangerie Jade is a nice cafe, but they don't do fresh cream cakes. Their eclairs are filled with patisserie cream (a kind of custard), not fresh cream. Azalea- thanks and I've been to Bunhead Bakery (a Palestinian bakery) in Herne Hill a few times. There's a nice chocolate bun they do, which is amazing when then sauce is warmed up. But I haven't seen any fresh cream things there, only white icing. Maybe it's only on a certain day.  And the last time I checked, Ayres bakers in Nunhead don't do fresh cream things. These are the kind of fresh baked goods I'm thinking of....
    • Warning to parents using the playground in Dulwich Park. My daughter and her friends found a bag of ‘crunchy powder’ in the children’s playground this morning around 11ish. They thought it was ‘popping candy’ and all tried some before seen with it. Request to parents using the playground - if you see plastics bags with suspect looking contents or powder on the floor in the playground or park: pick it up and throw it in the bin. Don’t walk past and think someone else will deal with it. The next person to walk by might be a child who could pick it up not understanding what it could be. Hopefully our daughter and her friends will be ok and it’s a lucky escape. But please be aware in case anyone else’s child may have found it before them.
    • I’m looking for some ply sheets, ideally 9mm or 12mm. It doesn’t have to look good. As long as it’s not rotten it’ll be fine. I’d like bigger sheets, but I’m open to whatever anyone’s got. If you can help, drop me a DM.  Cheers
    • the only known name is from that poster in the window where it says to email [email protected]. I thought that website might shed some light on who is creating the posters I hope whoever was attacked is doing ok, but agree there is something very off/vigilante-ish about all of this
