I was being sarcastic based on a few of your past posts that I obviously haven't forgotten.

So what do you think animals think AM?

And if nobody really knows, there's a good chance that they think exactly the same as the human in the video.

It is important to point out that comparing animals to humans is floored and has it own dangers. For example, should animals who attack other animals be punished in the same way humans are punished for attacking other humans? Also should humans be treated as some animals are: for example should elderly and frail humans be executed by lethal injection as some animals are or should feral children be neutered as cats and dogs are?

Robert Poste's Child, I am shocked by the aggression and contempt on this forum by yourself and other users. What is it I said?

Would you like to make a one way bet with me if I prove I am who I say I am? Bet me ?100?

I will disclose my details to the forum moderator who can then confirm that I am a current university lecturer at the university of London, but my condition is the moderator does not make my details known.

Do you accept Robert Poste's Child?

Well, you dirty my name and claim I am a troll but when challenged you say you are not interested.

I repeat: would you bet ?100 I am not a university lecturer?

Anyone can make claims and slander but are you willing to put your money where your mouth is? Or is this a case of throw mud and run?

Even I'm a little suspicous now Davis, and I have lost my temper at people accusing new posters of being fake. But no way would it bother me so much that I would feel the need to absolutely prove those people wrong. It's just a forum. Who cares what anyone thinks about who is who? And if some people choose to be rude to, or suspicious of new posters, then that's their problem. It's not worth wasting any time bothering with it.

Davis, that's not very logical - no one can 'dirty' your name as you are posting anonymously.

You claimed to be a University of London lecturer but for a relative newcomer your posts quickly became provocative, which gave me the impression you're looking to stir things up rather than have a genuine discussion.

Otta, fair point re picking up on use of language, but I think it's appropriate here as university lecturers not only have higher degrees but are expected to publish regularly on their subject. The OP's use of language and some of the comments seem to be at odds with this. (Note that I have heroically not commented on use of slander vs libel...)

I could be wrong, though.

Blah Blah, you have a point.

I just take offence to slander against me or others. I do not post much on forums and to be honest EDF is the first forum I have posted on for a few years and I forgot about some of the ignorant behaviour which occurs on forums. But as you said it is a just an internet forum... Never mind.

Crikey. You've mellowed since your earlier posts on this thread.

Please Davis & Robert Poste's Child..

This Thread is about Fox Hunting..

There is a Thread about Academics. (Davis)

If you both wish to continue your constant Bickering may I suggest you either

continue it there or find a School Playground where you can both scratch each others eyes out.

How would I know what they think am? I would say there is no chance that they think the same as the human in the video. This man must have assumed the 'animal' he killed was like a human, with very bad results:

I will never agree with hunting animals for sport....

However I'd happily shoot grey squirrels and some of the neighbours' cats with an air pistol (too many of both). Well in my dreams anyway. And what ever it is does the runny shits in our front garden.....

We got a squirrel caught in a squirrel proof bird feeder last year. The thing was apoplectic. As they are pests you are supposed to dispose of them. This poor townie after trying to give it a heart attack with a cat scarer ended up prising open the feeder to let it free (and managing to avoid getting my fingers bitten off). I am such a light weight.

    • Having had several cats over the past 40 years - mainly rescue, we have a tried and tested routine, Initially confined to one room with litter tray/food/water - we take it in turns to stay for a few minutes several times a day so they become familiar with our scent. They are gradually introduced to the rest of the house. We have a wire cat basket and we place cat in basket and take them outside, over a few days we place basket in different areas of the garden - grass area/gravel area, patio area etc - different flowers/plants. Some of the more nervous cats we walk around the garden on a lead. They get use to the scent of the garden. We have a cat flap in the back door so they have full access - If we need to keep cat in - just block off the cat flap so they cannot escape! We are now down to one elderly cat - who during the summer just laid on the garden chairs and came in for food, but as weather getting colder prefers to sit on a worktop in the kitchen looking out into the garden. So we are back to the cat litter as she is reluctant to go out in the rain/cold.
    • With fibre you are paying for the speed, which is the number, yours is 300 so if you did a lot of gaming, for example, you would want the fastest possible.  If it's just office work or maybe streaming on Netflix you likely won't need as fast, but, if there are a lot of people in your house all doing their own thing on different devices, then faster speeds are better.  I don't rely on my Wi-Fi much other than when I am using my mobile.  I use Ethernet cables to connect up everything, I Have one cable running from my router, along the skirtings and through a hole I drilled in the wall to another room.  I have attached the plusnet speed guide which gives you an idea of how it works.
    • I'd reread what you posted and try to summarise.  It just comes across as a rant.
