Abandoned Lancia on Ryedale

To the owner of this car. If I were you I'd come and have a look at it. The tyres are flat, the cover is off and flapping in the wind and the hubcaps have come off. Why not start the new year by moving it outside your own house?

Not taxed, no MOT and NOT insured - why has the council not towed this away ages ago? Thought ANPR would have picked this up at some point?

The owner would have had to renew the sorn until last year, so there is an owner somewhere. Technically a sorned vehicle can't be kept on a public highway, so technically it shouldn't be parked there, but.........

There is also this one, parked on the pavement outside the closed down PC(?) shop towards the top of Lordship Lane (ED Tavern)...clearly hasn't moved in a while!

The guy who used to run that shop owned that bit of pavement outside the shop in Lordship Lane I seem to think. Maybe this means the vehicle is technically off the road.

If it's on private land then I think as long as it's SORNed it's cool.

I'm fairly sure that even SORN'd vehicles still need to be insured now...

No dv1, sorned vehicles do NOT have to be insured. Taxed vehicles have to be insured, wherever you keep them and whether you drive them or not, but sorned vehicles are fine as long as they are not on the public highway. And if as suggested above, that part of the pavement is private land then the vehicle can sit there as long as it likes if it is sorned.
