Hello all,

I was hoping to get some advice from kind EDF members.

I'm a comic who lives in ED and have just finished writing a comedy show I'll be doing at Festivals around the country this year including my 2nd full run at Edinburgh.

I was wondering if you guys could suggest venues in ED, Peckham, Forest Hill that I might try and get a room to do some previews?

Many thanks,

Sam.

The Ivy House and The Old Nun's Head both put on comedy.

Both arein Nunhead and both are within walking distance of East Dulwich.

The Ivy House has quite a large performance space with a fantastic stage. Holds around 150 seated/standing.

The Old Nun's Head has a smaller cosy space upstairs with a smaller stage. Holds around 50/60 seated/standing.

Contact Hugo, events manager at The Ivy House, to book their room, and Nick, manager at The Old Nun's Head, to book theirs.

The Bridge House Theatre by Penge West is a great place. Loads of pubs will have backrooms that offer hire functions. The Goldsmiths in Penge is doing odd music and comedy performances too, including this one:

    • Well thanks for enriching the conversation.  Would you chuck Fah - rage in too for his tax avoidance on his property?   I expect it was lead story on Jeremy Vine too.  Doesn't make it a story, just a bit more of BBC tabloid style sensationalism.  There are numerous real news stories in the UK and across the world.  And now, apt for Halloween, you have summoned up the ghost of Louisa. So for the third time, will you now eat humble pie?
