southsidesally
Hi there,Can anyone recommend a feline behaviourist or therapist? My 13-year tom has become increasingly neurotic since I had to put my other cat down last year. He has taken to using my entire flat as a litter box and it is driving me crazy.Thank you,Helena Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/53734-cat-behaviour-therapist/ Share on other sites

bcam
Hi HelenaCats can become depressed and stressed with the loss of a companion. Older cats can also suffer from dementia, which we only found that out recently.I'd talk to your vet about this, or call Lordship Lane Vets, who I use. They had lots of good advice when my old boy went through a very vocal phase through the night.Bryan Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/53734-cat-behaviour-therapist/#findComment-817434 Share on other sites
southsidesally
Thank you, Bryan. I think you are right about the effects of the loss of a companion. As my cat was urinating on floor mats I have removed them in the hope that this will deter that particular behaviour. A vet advised that I set up a 2nd litter box and place some grass in it - as he also likes to urinate outside. So we will see!Best wishes,Helena Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/53734-cat-behaviour-therapist/#findComment-817474 Share on other sites
