Well it was just the two of us tonight

Mightyroar won with great panache, and I applaud her efforts on coming out after a day with the kids.

Although I did get a bingo only for 64 points though

Which leads me onto a question what's your best bingo and was it online or in a proper game

Mine ofcourse is Anorexia - 110 points Online Facebook

Dear Mightyroar,

I have started a girly game on facebook with yourself, me and tillie.

And I have now removed the offending words spelt incorrectly.

I now have a newsflash to all Scrabble / Nintendo DS players - yes you've guessed it NDS are bring out Scrabble on the DS and my husband is getting it for me - I'm sooooo excited. (maybe I should get a life)

We only need a couple more to play super scrabble on Thursday

Hello from Croyde Bay

I have managed to find a pub with WIFI, and am distressed to find that the scrabble on Facebook is down :-(

Huguenot - My handle on ISC is hannah179 (Remember "There can be only one!")

Maybe a game on Sunday at 4pm in the MAG so we have a our seats ready for the quiz - by the way does anyone know if it's a rollover!!

I've had a few confirmations on attendees for this afternoons meet, so I just thought I would let others know to encourage more players.

Mogs

Floating Onion

Ally Cat

Mightyroar

We will be found in the MAG at 4pm and then probably carry on for the quiz - does anyone know if the HI-LOW money was won as last week it was estimated at ?1500.00, if it is a rollover then I'm sure it would be nearing ?2000.00, so that will be a nice sum to win.

Great, the only problem is you need to provide information about your facebook as I'm not sure which one is you as we've never met.

But you could always come along to one of the meets, we had six playing scrabble this evening all very civilised at The Plough.

Definitely would like to come along to one of your meets... couldn't make it this weekend - evenings are best for me. As for Facebook I am the one with a ginger haired man next to me - oh and I am on Pete's friends list as we are hoping to have a game soon (no doubt he will thrash me!)

    • This presumably hasn't been done by vandals. It's hardly a Sycamore Gap situation. So if it's been done by professionals, unless it was a mistake (unlikely) there must have been a good reason, as it would have cost money. It would perhaps have been a good idea to put a notice on the tree explaining why such drastic work was done, but usually (I think) it would be either because of disease (often not noticeable on the surface) or that the roots or branches  were endangering nearby structures. As already said, nobody on here is likely to know. The tree department in Southwark Council are helpful in my (admittedly limited) experience. Please post on here when you have found out, as I agree what's left of the tree looks pretty odd. Depending on why the work was done, possibly they intend to remove the rest as well?
    • I have a very stupid question. I want to get a SIM card to put in an old mobile as a back up,  in case despite my best efforts my mobile gets stolen and I have no way of contacting anybody quickly, eg banks. Can I just buy any old cheap pay as you go  SIM card and put say ten pounds on it and it will then be fine for years (with the phone kept charged!) even if I don't use it, or do I have to use the phone  every so often to keep the SIM card valid?
    • I hate to see trees cut down to such an unfinished state. Unless the tree is home to wildlife, an effort should be made to remove & replace. Otherwise, it's just so useless & unsightly.
    • Given the level of care in Dulwich Park, I would not expect this to be careless or unnecessary. It will grow back.
