Sorry you've had such a bad experience there. Personally, I shop there most weeks and have never had a problem. I like it there because it's often less crowded and the pace of shopping is less stressful as a result. Horses for courses, as they say. I don't think that stealing from the shop and then admitting it on the forum is very clever though!
Granted it is alot less busier than the others I mentioned but it isn't really a good enough excuse for poor training standards even if it does have a very transient workforce. You're right it isn't very smart what I said but it's equally thick to sell clearly hazardous food to the public on more than one occasion and then try to deny it. This will probably come across as childish but last night I was so angry that I thought if they want to inconvenience me then they'll suffer the same.

Good stuff.

Wish I had been a fly on the wall.

Then I could have laid some eggs in the dough :-S

Sainsburys FH feels like a mausoleum, in any case. Can't stand the place.

BBW if you bring it back today we'll just call youa 'Borrower'

Sorry Hona, Halfway through it already. HonaloochieB I challenge you to go to Sainsbury's fozzy hill and leave with a sense of satisfaction concerning customer service. The woman at the deli doesn't wear gloves and her fingernails look like she intimately Bulldozes her arsehole every 5 minutes. The management drag there knuckles behind their guide dogs and the million chimps of the checkouts still haven't completed the works of Shakespeare. The place is a shambles.
Giggirl you're correct in saying that I do have a choice but Sainsbury's forest hill is the only place within walking distance that sells freshly baked bread after Provender closed earlier this year. The other 2 stores I mentioned are too far to do a weekly shop. Basically Sainsbury's has a monopoly since as I'm sure you're aware Dartmouth rd and London rd don't have the same capacity/variety of food shops that Lordship lane does. Do I like being bothered? No, don't be stupid as you seem intelligent. Admittedly I don't have much contact with the management but the occasion I described was unforgivable, even other customers and the staff agreed the bread was dangerously under baked that it made a squelching noise when prodded. The managements behaviour was a classic sign of lax complacency of a big fish in a small pond concerning local competition which in my opinion is disgracful. I know it's a bit drastic but imagine going to your local doctor seeking diagnosis and they turned around and said don't be such a wimp and go back to work because they knew another G.P wasn't within your capacity/budget to visit, you'd feel outraged wouldn't you?

I admit I'm slightly geographically-challenged on this one BBW because I'm not that familiar with Forest Hill so I don't know what your options are. You need to vote with your feet though. Don't spend your money there. If you haven't got an alternative (bricks and mortar) then you need to shop on line. Personally, I'm an Ocado fan - they do no wrong in my eyes. It's just a matter of getting organised and setting up your shopping lists. The first couple of times are fiddly but once you're up and running it's a breeze - and saves you time. Give it a go. Here's the link:

ggiggi girl......point is that really "foxy" likes what happens to him at FHS....he gets to vent his spleen, the faulty bread or what ever is a vehicle for his pent up venom...........Ocado would kill him, imagine some dunce turning up with the wrong thing & without an audience ......poor "foxy" would corpse......

At the risk of getting my house blown down when you huff and you puff and ... (well you get the concept)

Have you tried baking your own bread, or if time is limited getting a bread maker and set it before going after the little piggies of East Dulwich / Forest Hill for the day so that you can come home to freshly baked bread

Just a though mind

Yeah I did have one but it was dammaged after it got knocked of the work surface. Shame as it was a present from my mum when I was at Uni and subsequently I got the hang of it as the first loafs are a bit hit n miss. I would never blow your house down LuvPeckham and the foxes tell me your scraps are very master chef.

Oh dear

did mummy scold you & tell you off for breaking the bread machine(in a tiff no doubt)while at uni.........or did you blame somebody else (as per usual) ...still could have been worse.....

...might have got a kickin' from ol'cabbage head himself...

Ahh they were the days..readin' guns & ammo....all tucked up in bed....cup of tea in your "noddy" mug & bit of jammy toast..

Woof we all know your parents abandoned you but don't take it out on those of us who don't have learning difficulties such as yourself. My dad did serve in the Marines and saw action in the Falklands but which part of the T.A was you dad/brother rejected from? I personally had a Postman pat mug but from what I've heard of your financial status of late and local gossip it appears that you off spring change their clothes less regularly than Noddy.

    • Re Day One, £52 for a short hair cut (cut & styling) and £72 for a long hair cut (cut & styling) which I believe is below the ears.  £38 for a blow dry which doesn’t appear to be included in the cut price as it’s not mentioned.  £15 for a fringe tidy.      I remember being startled to be charged separately for a blow dry by the salon that used to be in Melbourne Grove but is now closed down.  I was asked if I wanted a blow dry after the cut and highlights and said yes, but wasn’t told that I would be charged separately.  Only found out when I went to pay the bill.    Was offered a voucher on a further appointment.    De.Salon which used to be Cut-Throat in Peckham (Choumert Rd and Brixton) charge from £45 for a Short haircut that finishes by the ears.  They charge from £40 for any haircut that finishes below the jawline.  Their prices include a blow dry.  But if you have thick hair they charge an extra £15 for every additional 15 minutes for cutting.     I had my hair cut there before the name change.  I don’t understand the from part of the price. Had a look at the Blue Tit pricing which is very complicated. They charge depending on the stylist’s  experience.  Crab Salad in Peckham  -  short hair cut above the ear - from £69.    Long hair Cut below the ear from £80. Blow dry not mentioned as being included in the cut but is priced at £55 I noticed that Kuki charge different prices for men and women.  Doesn’t seem right if a woman has short hair and a man has long hair.   I used to go to a great salon in NW London  that charged the same price for men and women and stopped going when they upped their prices for women.
    • BIAB is supposed to be less damaging to the nails than Shellac. It stands for Builder in a Bottle.
    • I have been training at the hub for just over one year. I really enjoy the variety of training offered and the quality of the instructors. Very effective group classes and enjoyable in the open air! A very welcoming place which makes a fitmess journey pleasant!
    • We're are just about to get ready for sale, a 2 bed flat, very close to Peckham Rye park.  It has been rented out for sometime, so is in need of some TLC for it to look its best, before it goes on the market.  Would be interested to know others thoughts on whether its best to just have the place painted completely white throughout, probably with new grey flooring, or if it might be more appealing to add some colour/interest (nothing too drastic), perhaps something alittle 'warmer', with some nice (potentially dark) feature walls maybe? Wondered whether the days of going completely white might now have passed ..... It might be useful to know that its not a period or conversion property, but rather a flat in a private purpose built block.
