Campsites in Britain you'd recommend? We have a small van, and like to have a fire and interesting things to visit nearby....

There is the Hay Festival in May (Wales) and a camp site opposite, so you can camp and explore the festival during the day / evening....

We love this one http://www.ecocampuk.co.uk/2013/01/18/campsite-near-hastings/ we went several times recently, it is v peacefully, close to london, Eco, and you get your own secluded spot in the trees.

Forgewood and Welsummer are 2 within 2 hours of London that allow fires, but I am not sure that Welsummer takes vans.

Hi sorry to hijack this thread but does anyone know of a campsite that allows fires, groups and VW type vans that's between London and Bristol... somewhere along the M4 corridor?

That's for Wiltshire. The search engine works by country or postcode but you'll get there with some tinkering. But there are a few good looking ones there.
