Hi

We are planning to move shortly to our new house and need to buy a few white goods such as a refrigerator, washing machine dryer and a dishwasher . Ideally want to buy all three from the same brand to have a coordinated look and feel. Any suggestions of a good reasonable brand and also outlets, websites where I could get good deals for home delivery.

MAny thanks !!

To the best of my knowledge, John Lewis won't match online prices.

If you are concerned about matching, I assume you are going to have the appliances on show rather than hidden, so you will want to consider aesthetics as well as as efficiency and reliability.

Why not google Which Best Buys in your price range for each appliance (or at least which are their Worst Buys, so you can avoid them), make a shortlist for each appliance, then choose one brand which comes near the top for each appliance?

Then you can google the cheapest price for each appliance (you don't need to get them all from the same place necessarily). Though look at online reviews for the places you are thinking of getting them from, as customer service is important too, not just price.

If you want to see them in the flesh, Curries in the Old Kent Road seem to have a much bigger selection than John Lewis.

Having said all that, John Lewis's own brand appliances are often quite plain and nice looking, whereas some of the others are in my opinion hideous, unless you like things like bright red logos jumping out at you all the time :(

They do, provided the business has a physical shop somewhere in the UK. I got a online price match from PRC Direct, on the basis they have a small shop in Ilford.

Another recommendation for Bosch. I think the more basic the model, the longer they last (in my experience). My dishwasher and w/m lasted forever with no problems, sadly I had to give them away when I moved house.

Have heard good things about Miele too, if your budget allows.

Not to mention the King and Queen 🤢"  Starmer dithers and is unable to make any decision and when he finally does he gets in massively wrong and duly backtracks. The guy is a liability and clown who the country needs rid off before he taxes us to heaven whilst bankrupting the country.  And as he's flying in and around Windsor for two days, I do hope they've got the skies covered as he's a sitting duck.
    • I assumed that the noise was from Heathrow planes - until the power outage in March that brought everything to a standstill. I still heard plane noise during that time - seems like it's City Airport planes. I wonder whether flight times and patterns can be adapted during the early hours before 6am to minimise noise pollution (e.g. slightly later times and not flying so low).
    • I was replying to Jazzer, who said it wasn't going to change Trump's presence here. However, you are also obviously right, and also  nothing will change Trump for the better. And yes, this could be counter productive. But I'm sure the silver tongued Keir Starmer will be able to smooth things over. Not to mention the King and Queen 🤢  I think it's right that people should feel able to make their feelings known. It appears to be  a peaceful and well planned demonstration, and presumably they won't be bringing out the Baby Trump inflatable again, which must be well deflated by now.
    • Its a few years ago now, but I organised my end of year prom (for year 13) at Off the Cuff in Herne Hill - was on the cheaper side to rent and at that age, felt very cool and clubby. I had my own 18th at Whirled Cinema in Loughborough Junction but I'm not sure if they take event bookings like that anymore
