Fish, Chips and More do a Monday to Thursday deal at 4.95....can't mind right enough it's take away only though. No chippy down here can compare to a Scottish chipper though. Crave Blackpudding suppers...

In that case....Bretts in Headingley.

Or if were being a ponce about things, any of the harbour side fish places in Essouira, Morocco that cook fish to order on a charcoal grill served with chips and salad and bread and a side of shrimp! For about ?5. Whilst being offered hashish. Win win.

Yes, that was my point. When the thread started I was expecting to see that SC charge in excess of a tenner. 6 - 7 quid for a meal is not a lot of money.

Aye, ehs ken. Washed doon wi fave pints o hivvy ana...

Yes you're right... goddamit. I mean you save a pound at the Dulwich Fryer, but yes okay go to hell

The Sea Cow is rubbish. I've been twice and both times it was crap. First time thought it bland and couldn't understand why it always looked busy. Decided to give it another go, I got haddock and chips, got home to discover they had squished 2 tiny haddock together and passed it off as one. Felt like I'd been mugged off. Never again.

(Chips were spongy)

Jesus. How many times do we have to go over this. ?6.75 takeaway, ?9 to eat in.

Try ordering fish and chips in a local pub and see if it's less than ?9.

No it's not. I had a look at their takeaway prices in the window -- it's ?9. Eat in is something like ?11 now.

They have a kids menu where the takeaway is ?6.50, but I'm a grown ass man and I want grown ass proportions

@Bob - I will! I'll take a bloody photo to assure you that I'm not paranoid, I'm right

ALL hail Fryers Delight

Was last in Sea Cow a couple of months ago and it was good. Chips nicely cooked, Fish batter was thin and delicious and their minted mushy peas (i would never have thought minting them was necessary) were a revelation.

I'm also a big fan of Cod Fellas on Bellenden Road.

The worst fish and chips i've had in the area by far were from the new-ish one on East Dulwich Road. I have no idea what it's called, but it was awful.

    • Wow, well served with local supermarkets then…  Agree with ATM.. good c position to been mugged or cloned card - prob why not been considered before. Wasn’t there one outside post office and still  is2where people were abit nervous of using? Hope I am wrong but won’t see me rushing to use it…sure lots of folk will benefit thou. Not a great fan or user of Iceland but when it closed years ago people complained..  Guess they only b look at bigger sites - can’t recall an express one but a pity to those who frequent the store. Strange that Tesco can use it as local but Iceland can’t - guess it is  power of large supermarkets. Personally would have  loved an Aldi or Lidl but  clearly site to small. Only grocery stores left to come are Waitrose, Aldi, Lidl…
    • I'm paying £31 pcm for full fibre 300, whatever that is. I'm not sure it's a particularly good deal now, but I did a comparison at the time I went onto it, and it was then. I don't have a landline any more, and my mobile is with iD, who piggyback off 3. I don't usually have any problems,  except once a few years back when the whole 3  network (?) went  down for quite a long time.
    • I have Plusnet too.   I recently (August) had some problems with WiFi connection on different days but and the turning off and turning on didn’t work.  The WiFi didn’t work for quite a few hours - overnight in one case but eventually rectified itself.   Would be interested to know how much other people pay for Plusnet. I also have a landline with them as the mobile signal is bad inside house.  That is with EE and I want to change from them to another provider.
    • That's terrible 🤬 Was it the same company both times?
