My 6 year old used to attend Dulwich leisure centre for swimming lessons but we had to pull him out around Summer time for health reasons. Now he has a clean bill of health we want to re-enrol him but lately I have been hearing some not so good reviews about the swim school in Dulwich. Any recommendations for other swimming lessons in the area?

I'm mystified by the not-so-good reviews you mention. My son goes to Dulwich Leisure Centre for swimming lessons - we're happy with it.

But in any case, I think Dulwich Leisure Centre might be full/filling up fast as there seemed to be lot of new people last weekend, transferring over from the Peckham Pulse pool. Apparently the Peckham Pulse pool where the swim lessons take place has closed for renovations.

To be honest other than how dirty the changing rooms were and how busy the classes got I wasn't that unhappy with the lessons but since I have been looking into re-starting his lessons the feedback I have read and heard from parents who are still enrolled there or have moved their children, aren't particularly great.

I second the comment that I am happy with lessons there, if that helps. Happier than I was with those in Peckham Pulse -- they seem to relate to my child more as an individual and he is progressing more obviously at Dulwich pool. Changing rooms ARE hellish crowded at popular lesson times, but I'm not sure if that's better elsewhere. Often there's a cleaner cleaning the changing rooms during the crowded times (which i imagine are protracted) to try to keep it clean - so there's effort being made there.

Dulwich lessons have got better. There is much more consistency in teaching now. Both my kids swim at the same time in different stages and it's so local. Yes they are never gonna to be as nice as some of the other places but it is a local authority centre.

    • Wow, well served with local supermarkets then…  Agree with ATM.. good c position to been mugged or cloned card - prob why not been considered before. Wasn’t there one outside post office and still  is2where people were abit nervous of using? Hope I am wrong but won’t see me rushing to use it…sure lots of folk will benefit thou. Not a great fan or user of Iceland but when it closed years ago people complained..  Guess they only b look at bigger sites - can’t recall an express one but a pity to those who frequent the store. Strange that Tesco can use it as local but Iceland can’t - guess it is  power of large supermarkets. Personally would have  loved an Aldi or Lidl but  clearly site to small. Only grocery stores left to come are Waitrose, Aldi, Lidl…
    • I'm paying £31 pcm for full fibre 300, whatever that is. I'm not sure it's a particularly good deal now, but I did a comparison at the time I went onto it, and it was then. I don't have a landline any more, and my mobile is with iD, who piggyback off 3. I don't usually have any problems,  except once a few years back when the whole 3  network (?) went  down for quite a long time.
    • I have Plusnet too.   I recently (August) had some problems with WiFi connection on different days but and the turning off and turning on didn’t work.  The WiFi didn’t work for quite a few hours - overnight in one case but eventually rectified itself.   Would be interested to know how much other people pay for Plusnet. I also have a landline with them as the mobile signal is bad inside house.  That is with EE and I want to change from them to another provider.
    • That's terrible 🤬 Was it the same company both times?
