Getting to Heathrow / jubilee / Victoria line closures on Saturday

Apparently the jubilee line won't be operating on Saturday between Stratford and Green Park, incl. London Bridge, with the dreaded rail bus replacement "services" running instead.

The Victoria line is closed all weekend.

Have got to get to Heathrow by 8.45am, urgh.

Bus to Elephant or Lambeth Nth, Bakerloo to Piccadilly Circus, then Pic Line (or B'loo to Paddington for Heathrow Express)

Taxi to Paddington, Heathrow Express

Taxi all the way

normally I would agree with Jeremy re: Taxi

But 2 dodgy traffic experiences at Heathrow the last 2 times mean I no longer trust it

Look on lastminute or Expedia and see if you can get a cheap hotel - I had a 6.40am flight, but a hotel was only ?35 for the night, much cheaper than a taxi and I got some sleep! There's free buses during the day to most of the Heathrow hotels, and the bus in the morning costs about ?4 from the hotels to the airport.

I wasn't necessarily endorsing a taxi, just mentioning it as an option. If I was travelling on my own, I would go with my first suggestion. Personally I avoid buses as I find the timing is unpredictable, but I think we've had this conversation before!

Surely just a 40 or a 185 or a 176 to E&C, Bakerloo to Paddington and then the express train?

the 'yotel' inside the terminal at both Gatwick and Heathrow is good - they charge by the hour so you can check in at say 11pm then check out at airline check-in time - all you get is a tiny capsule room with an amazing bed and shower

Just bringing this thread back to see if anyone else has any taxi company recommendations (I've had a look at airportscars.co.uk but just want to get a few alternatives if possible) for a cab to Heathrow?

We need to get there for a 4am check-in so public transport is not really an option and a hotel room that we'll only use for a few hours seems a waste.

I have also heard, but not used myself, that green tomato cars are quite good..

185 doesn't go to E&C - goes to Oval, Vauxhall, Victoria.

Not gone yet! Booked a cab for ?43. Public transport at that hour is all about night buses, fine if you are on your way home after a night on the sauce, not when you have a plane to catch.
