I'm hoping for some sensible suggestions here!

My mother sadly passed away a few months ago. I have the task of sorting through her clothes. A lot of things will be going to charity shops. But I'm not sure what to do with the everyday things like pants, socks, tights, etc. I know bras can go to a bra-bank to raise money for breast cancer research. But what to do with the rest? Someone suggested that a women's refuge would happily take such items. Any ideas from you knowledgeable locals? It seems a shame just to bin things.

Thanks.

Charity shops get money for items such as this which we can't sell. We at St Christopher's have 'rag bags' which still raise money for the cause. If you hand it in, make it clear these items are for 'ragging' and they will go straight in the appropriate bag.

Sorry for your loss.
