You realise that statement is like going into East Dulwich Deli as an example of a typical English deli and concluding that English people 'dont eat much fresh produce, just lots of expensive things in jars' don't you?

I agree, it was a bit of a strange comment. A shop selling imported groceries will, almost by definition, mainly be selling food which is tinned, frozen, preserved, etc. There's plenty of other places for the Poles to buy fresh veg and meat.

Exactly ;-)

Bigos is a relly good Polish dish. Lots of different regional variations but it bscially consists of lots of pork, 3 different types of salami (krakowska, kabanos and then usually a milder polish salami so take your pick), cabbage (obviously), onion, garlic, apples, cloves and paprika. Stew it all up basically and idally make it the day before then reheat for an hour. Lasts a while and gets better as the flavours soak in.


My grandparents would be proud...

    • Second time that Leon has come to the rescue . He was here within 2 hours -- ok he was working locally but he didn't have to fit me in .Shows what he's like ,he'll try and get to you asap .And he carries a number of commonly used parts and doesn't have to go off and get them . (You might think that this isn't deserving of comment ,but believe me it is ! ) Great guy ,100% recommend .

    • Today between approximately 3:30 and 4:00 PM, someone entered the back door of an estate agency and stole items from the kitchen, including a microwave and kettle. The individual then proceeded to trash the kitchen before leaving. This happened near Shawbury/Lordship Lane. If anyone saw a man carrying these items or acting suspiciously in the area around that time, please report it to the authorities and let me know. if anyone has access to cameras located near the area, your help would be appreciated.  Let’s help keep our community safe.
    • Well, that makes me feel better about my presently chaotic "office" (aka dumping ground for random stuff 😀) I do use it for an office as well though. That's what I'm supposed to be doing now, instead of mindlessly scrolling on my phone 😭
