Strawbs
Is ther such a thing at that age? My son is now toddling around so mostly we use the maclaren but find on outings with stairs like Hampton court palace it is restrictive just having the pram so I have been using the ergo. In theory it works fine as I love he ergo but his patience is running out with not being able to front face. As he has just started walking I am hesitant to invest in the ergo that front faces so any other suggestions? I thought about a backpack carrier but they look big and heavy! Thanks xxx Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/57664-best-carrier-for-a-14m-boy/ Share on other sites
goldilocks
Can you pop him on your back in the ergo? Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/57664-best-carrier-for-a-14m-boy/#findComment-843051 Share on other sites
Pickle
At that age I was carrying my kids on my back, I had a sling similar to an Ergo. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/57664-best-carrier-for-a-14m-boy/#findComment-843066 Share on other sites
Strawbs
I didn't even know you could do the ergo on the back! I am going to try it this weekend, as always thank you for the tip! x Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/57664-best-carrier-for-a-14m-boy/#findComment-843153 Share on other sites
sanity girl
The manduca works front facing or on your back (more comfy!) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/57664-best-carrier-for-a-14m-boy/#findComment-843174 Share on other sites
goldilocks
Getting them on your back on your own can be tricky at first but easy with someone to help you - or a sofa / chair! Its way more comfy to carry them on your back once they're over about 10kg and they can see quite a lot. Front facing carriers ie where the baby faces out aren't great ergonomically for either them or you so I would agree with not buying another carrier capable of this. indya
Try a Connecta toddler. Very comfortable. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/57664-best-carrier-for-a-14m-boy/#findComment-843689 Share on other sites
Saffron
Most people do seem to prefer back carriers for older toddlers, but I used a front carrier and preferred it even when my daughter was quite heavy. I had a Wilkinet which ties, no buckles. That was way more comfy for me. Everyone is different. Have you thought about trying some different styles at a sling library?
