I think of it as a management tool. Happy to report it works all the way up to CEO level.

Talking of U2, Bono is one of the biggest hypocrites around. He chides governments for not spending more on relief of poverty, while he and his chums avoid tax on a big scale.

Bono, where do you think that governments get their money from so that they can spend more on poverty relief? From taxation, that's where.

Hey. I started that thread and if I'm brain dead, well that's my right. Over to you to start an intellectually stimulating thread.........

The Nights are drawing in.

The Weather has turned cold..

The EDT has turned on Their Fires and cranked up the heating.

LOVELY..

Then you get a couple of Selfish Gits that pull over a table and two stalls

and sit with their Ar**s in the flames so no one can see the fire or feel the benefit.

Foxy

Posts in the wrong thread, particularly what are clearly ads. I sometimes report them to Admin but not sure this is being enforced much. This week seems to be mainly events. Suppose it makes a change from the endless 'research opportunities' and me-too TV/media idiots looking for people to mock.

People who don't say "excuse me" or make any polite request when they need you to move, usually on the bus or train. They just shift around, give you a hard stare or trample you. What is wrong with asking? You're not going to burst into flames if you speak to another person in public you know!

Myself, for responding to their fidgeting in lieu of a polite verbal request to get out of their way. I wish I could just sit and stare ahead of me and remain resolutely in their way until they are forced to actually ask. But I am far too polite (and English) for that. I shall have to get some blinkers for wearing on public transport. And then I get annoyed that they don't say thank you when I do move... grrr!

    • Surprise, surprise. It didn't take them long, did it. This will be something of a test as to how much the council really care about parks and the environment. A footfall of 60,000. Are they mad? There is no way this park is designed for or can sustain that sort of use. Just had a look at the schedule. If allowed to go ahead, this will involve a large slice of the park (not the common) sectioned off and out of use for three weeks of May and the first week of June. Here's an idea, why not trial the festival in one of the other Southwark Parks, so the 'goodness' can be shared around the borough?
    • There was another unprovoked attack on Monday this week on a young woman nearby (Anstey Road) at 6.45pm. Don't have any other details, it was posted on a Facebook group by her flatmate. Pretty worrying  https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1EGfDrCAST/
    • OMFG is it possible for the council to do anything without a bunch of armchair experts moaning about it? The library refurb is great news, as it's lovely but completely shagged out - the toilets don't even work reliably. Other libraries in the area will be open longer house during the closure. July is a rubbish time to begin a refurb because it's just before the entire construction sector goes on summer holiday, and it would mean delaying the work another 8 months.
