Yeah, those sheep shaggers really get your goat. Or sheep, even.

Reminds me of an old joke about a Kiwi/welshman/insert-your-favorite-sheep-nation-here taking their driving test:

Instructor: Can you make a U-turn?

Driver: Oh yeah - I can make her eyes bulge.

HmB,you want to try wearing tights: what you said, but all the way up your leg, and you only realise once they've cut off your femoral artery, AND if you try to straighten them rather than taking them off and starting again your irritation will make a hole so you have to throw them away and find a new pair anyway.

Twisted sock? You don't know when you're well off.

At this time of year you want your thermal tights on, at least for daytime. M&S heatgen are good because they're as thin as normal opaque tights but warmer, whereas the traditional thermal ones with wool are too bulky. To complete your winter granny chic look you need a thermal vest under the dress, knee-length boots, socks and a cashmere cardie. Then you should be toasty.

Ahem....

People who say "students" when they really ought to say "pupils", especially if they think it makes them sound more modern, trans-Atlantic and/or like they're "empowering" school children by giving them a more adult-sounding name.

The woman who stepped off the pavement into the path of my bike and said rather accusingly 'no lights'. A bit harsh considering I had four, two at the front and two at the back, even if the battery on the main front one was wearing down. She'd stand a better change of seeing them if she actually looked.

    • I was several miles away and I didn't miss it, as apparently didn't lots of others also several miles away. But as I and others reported although we guessed it was fireworks it sounded more like the WWI front line, albeit from a distance!
    • Due to many people's packed social schedules at this time of year, we are giving the December Forum Drinks a miss and restarting at the EDT  in January (if they will have us! I think we have all been well behaved so far!) Wishing everybody  a very happy festive season xxx
    • Hi. I hope everyone is well. I’m just wondering if anyone in the East Dulwich area has a working VHS/DVD Combi unit that records from VHS to DVD.  Or if anyone is willing to allow me to borrow or lend it for a time until I get all my videos transferred over. I am looking for a few on eBay but either they do not have the recording function or they are just too expensive.  If anyone can help I would be so grateful.  My current one which is a Sharp make started recording fine after years of not being used, then all of a sudden it stopped and hasn’t worked since. When I put a tape in and try, the machine shuts down, and the play button on the remote seems stuck. Thank you to anyone in advance that would be so kind enough to help xx
    • A quick update - my InPost parcels are being accepted sporadically at Barry's, but only one at a time and every few days, after many refusals - one was refused SEVEN times over about ten days - and several phone calls. As a comparison, I had a message from Yodel that a parcel that was going to Barry's is being delivered to another nearby store, which is interesting...
