Snorky.. when presented with a burger/hotdog at some kind of social gathering (perhaps outdoors in the summer), would you

a) refuse to eat it

b) eat with your hands but discretely force yourself to vomit afterwards

c) request a knife and fork a la DavCam

GBK's been around longer than beardy hipsters, though, hasn't it? I must say (though I haven't been in a while) that I've never felt it's a smug, sneering place, just somewhere to get a filling, tasty burger and chips. I'm not averse to MacDonald's but they are just so unfilling, 10 minutes after you've finished you're hungry again, which I find a whole lot more annoying than some free nuts.

KB - Well luckily we DO have access to toilets and washing facilities, so eating with your hands is perfectly safe. I'm sure they could rustle up some kind of bland veggie alternative for you.

phobic - as much as I love a good steak, they do a very good burger for ?15 (or a French dip sandwich for around a tenner I think). I can't always drop ?60+ a head on dinner...

I hate how gastropubs don't even sell small bags of nuts anymore. Who wants to snack on a bowl of olives with your pint? Bring back bar freebies like the old days, roasties, crisps, nuts. Comfort food, not pretentious food.
