Hello to everyone we mee last night including CitizenEd, Andrew, Geo, Georgia,Sue,

Ladygooner ..

Nice to see the usual folk. Mike nice to meet you and have a good chat.

Also nice to meet you Raj (aka Mr Georgia) ..chat about old Harrow!

Hi to Sean , always very warm and welcoming to us...

Ladygooner loooking forward to moving to your street.

The Canning was a great venue for the drinks.

I do recommend the Sunday lunch there as well. :-)

As the Canning shut,Emma(TinyDancer), Luke and Me went on to the

Vale for a disco and more drinks....till 2am!

Surprisingly Im not too hungover today...despite starting

drinking at 1pm yesterday with work mates!!

oh damn and blast... thought I would have a little snooze on the sofa before I headed off to the Canning last night...

and ... what happened!!! next minute it was 10.45 and the moment has passed!!!

I was so looking forward to it, oh foolish me...

next time folks...

Apologies quids, we did get a mini salty ice cream thingy thing on about our 18th course at about 1 in the morning, and so far we're all looking food poisoning free.

At mucho moola I can see why cynics would try and get a freebie, but I, and my wife, and our friends, had a genuinely good time...just something of a one off.

Hope you don't mind.

    • Ha! After I posted this, I thought of lots more examples. Screwfix and the hardware store? Mrs Robinson and Jumping Bean? Chemists, plant shops, hairdressers...  the list goes on... it's good to have healthy competition  Ooooh! Two cheese shops
    • You've got a point.  Thinking Leyland and Screwfix too but this felt different.
    • Moving into a new place and need both a wardrobe and a chest of drawers, ideally collection Friday. Thanks!
    • Lordship Lane has two dry cleaners, three pizza places and an Italian selling pizza, two burger places, three bakeries, two hardware (ish, I'm thinking AJ Farmer here), God knows how many coffee and charity shops, two Italians, three nail salons, five wine shops... Where was the abject outrage when Dynamic Vines opened up literally next door to Cave de Bruno? But I don't see his customers decamped next door - no, those stalwarts are still out in force every night.  In Roman times all businesses were clustered by product. It's what kept prices down. Same in any market you go to abroad, they're all selling the same things next to each other.  Why is everyone being so hard on this new place? It's called healthy competition - you can't curtail the expansion of your business on the basis you that might hurt someone else's.
