SE22 is delivered to some parts of Upland Road but not the whole road. If you used to get it but now don't, please let me know what number you are at and I will confirm if you are on the distribution list. Unfortunately I am unable to deliver to all of SE22, however as wee quinnie points out you can collect a copy at the library and also at various shops and bars in East Dulwich.

Just e-mail [email protected] if you want to check if you should be getting a copy. I appreciate knowing if there are any problems with delivery so I can try to rectify them.

Cheers

Angela

i also suspect that the publishers may be 'fiddling' with the print runs these days as a result of the ad revenue from estate agents having dropped off a cliff. The circulations are not audited and the biggest fixed cost for any publisher is print & distribution, which is the first to go in a downturn. The old living south publishers pumped up the circulation during the good times (when it was owned by our old parent compnay) and they may now be concentrating on the higher value demographics in wimbledon / putney etc.

Living South mag is at least two thirds smaller than what it was 18 months ago.. I know this as I'm an advertiser and keep editions.

I do not think this is all because of the 'downturn' either, more i think because advertisers (who still exist!) have found more effective/ cheaper/ efficient ways to reach all corners of south London.

SE Magazines are great but owing to their popularity/ limited distribution not always easily found. And yes, am a big fan of print publishing in general but i was born in the '70s, which makes me officially old skool (apparently)! :)

I live in se22 and emailed asking why we never received se22 only to be told we were out of the catchment area for deliveries.

I have recently started receiving SE15 magazine despite living in se22 and not being able to receive se22 magazine?

Anyway having read the recent se22 and se15 i now realise they are both full of the same ads every month anyway so not really bothered anymore!

I much prefer living south magazine but havent received it for a while either.

I also the printed form better than this internet stuff or worse those e-books! I want the smell of a new book and to browse not download a file to an updated etch-a-sketch.

SE22 mag has become increasingly irrelevant - the Rumours section quickly became hilariously out of date and fairly pointless now that we have the likes of Macroban on the internet thingamiggy keeping us well informed. Even the property in the ads had always been sold by the time it went to press. And the early excitement of the newly arrived middle classees on learning of a long awaited fresh fish shop/bar/baby wear store opening is all looking a bit 2005 now. It'll be a gradual turnover of these established businesses to variants of the same and more chains from now on.

Then there was the My Week column, an exercise in mind boggling vanity on the editors part as she shared the minutae of her rather uneventful Dulwich week with us in detail. Like a printed blog but without the action.

The one exception? Roullier White's column e.g. "At Easter we love to have friends to stay.... and what better to sustain them than a quails egg souflee!". Brilliant.

    • Where did I say he did a good job? Yup and Corbyn was very close to Len McCluskey and funded by Unite wasn't he...they're all as bad as each other... Labour have to purge their party of the far-left - they're a disaster. Allan Johnson summed it up so well on election night in 2019....
    • Thank you for the detailed advise @trinidad It is definitely damage we are concerned about. I don’t think Evri would agree to pay the bill to fix our gate or letter box if they were to be damaged as a result of their delivery drivers helper. Our doorbell can be heard from outside when rung so we don’t quite believe the aggressive simultaneous door/letter box banging is necessary. It can be quite a shock it is done very aggressively.  I’ll definitely action the steps you’ve kindly provided along with a phone call tomorrow. I do sympathise with the role drivers have and how busy they are, which is why we tried communicating directly with her but sadly we haven’t succeeded
    • What outcome would you like? Disciplinary action? Not to have the driver back? Retraining? I know there is alot of pressure on drivers to deliver within a set day. if he slams the gate, is it evidence he is causing damage, or is the noise a irritant to yourself? You could put a sign up or buy a signing asking to close the gate gentle???? can you hear the door bell from the door? he might be ringing, not hearing and therefore knocking. In trhe notes section of the be livery page, there is a note section, although there is not 100 per cent these notes would be read as these drivers are constantly rushing.  I did a google search for you, i found this and you can try the envri website Contact Us | Evri   To complain to Evri, you can follow these steps: Contact Customer Service: Call Evri's customer service at 0330 808 5456 for assistance with your complaint.    1 Write a Letter: Address your complaint to Capitol House, 1 Capitol Close, Morley, Leeds, West Yorkshire, LS27 0WH.    1 Use the Official Website: Visit the Evri complaints page on their official website for detailed instructions on how to submit a complaint.    2 Email or Call for Specific Issues: For issues like missing or damaged parcels, you can email or call 0800 988 8888, which is free to call.    1 These methods will help you effectively communicate your concerns to Evri.   My driver is called anthony, he is brilliant to be honest. I cant fault him.
    • When I have more time and energy, I will look up the actual number of votes cast for each party in that election, rather than the number of seats won. I'm interested to see that you apparently  think that  Boris Johnson did a good job of "leading the country through Covid." Is your memory really that short? I won't stoop to calling Johnson and his cronies names in the way that you seem to think is appropriate for left wing politicians. At least the left wing politicians have some semblance of morals and a concern for people who aren't in some over privileged inner circle and/or raking in money for themselves on the back of an epidemic. I'm not going to open a can of worms on here  by commenting on the disgraceful so called "purge".
