and the Lord said lo!

the sun shineth and the rain has fallen gently on the gardens of east dulwich, which i re-nameth to be Eden

and peace has fallen on the land

all those filled with spite and smitten with envy will be reborn, full of joy and merriment

and they will appeareth at the next EDF gathering full of optimism and openness

and new friendships will be formed and much laughter will ring through the streets of this new Eden

and the Lord said go forth and no need to multiply as the earth of Eden is of plenty already

for the gardens and lands of this new Eden can not sustain more offspring of you loins

and the Lord said of adam, known in this land as admin, that he was right to locketh that mighty thread

for the people of Eden will not be deterred

and they will go forward and create an new era of fruitfulness

and charliecharlie, who thinketh that she liveth in this land of Eden, will dream on

After what you PM to me detailing how offended and threatened you felt there and how scared you were of repercussions of people knowing that it was you that had PM that to me, I am surprised that you would turn up either ! I think you said you thought you were going to be lynched !

I am thinking your post was perhaps provoked by my post 45 minutes earlier about the lack of poetry, the lack of oratory, in the average bus-religious-nut-punter. (Why are they so banal?)

I had planned to post this link to Lynne Dawson singing I Know My Redeemer Liveth, but got swept away by work events.

.

Though the one that always gets me is the one about the valley of the shadow of death (23rd psalm).

Many years ago, a good friend at the time invited me to take part in the choir at evensong at Kings College Cambridge...

Moos, naysayers is a lovely word.

dulwichdoll, I thing fruitfullness can only ever be mellow, owing to Keats. Colocation, colocation, colocation!

    • I am  ill in bed with Covid. It's not that I "can't be bothered" to read things. I am feeling crap and don't have the mental  energy at the moment. I am not "brushing stuff aside and pleading ignorance." I am truthfully saying when I don't presently know enough about something to be able to comment. I have always been very careful to try to  differentiate between fact and opinion in both  my posts and other people's, and I am not clear what your point is. And I am certainly not trying to wind anybody up. This is a forum. If you don't want to respond to my posts, that's up to you. I'm not sure why you feel the need to announce it.
    • @NewWave I know how you feel. Like you, I've lived and spent prolonged periods of time in some pretty crazy places and always thought I could handle a bunch of kids. But, no - they got to me and I was shaking like a leaf afterwards. That's what age does to us.  But I did engage with them, so bear that in mind.  My advice would be to never let anything like that stop you doing the things you love. I'm certainly not going to stop using the park, there's no way they get to take away our cherished spaces!  If you see them, just change tack and keep out of their way. My dog won't even go that way again, so that's that problem solved. (If I see them again, I'm going to keep taking photos from a safe distance).
    • Truly horrific. Being passive or fighting back is what many of us think about by violent theft.
    • What ridiculous waste of money
