I know it's on the telly, but does anyone know which pubs (that also do decent food) will be showing the Chelsea Liverpool game tomorrow? I saw the first leg in the Forest Hill Tavern and was surprised to go in there and discover no food in the evening. Have to admit that the chips from the chippie next door were good though!

Actually not an easy one to answer. The 2 pubs that immediately spring to mind to watch footy, would be CPT or EDT, neither of which do food (well EDT might do snacky fod, not sure). Maybe The George Canning?

No offence, but sitting watching the footy whilst eating a meal just doesn't seem quite right to me.

    • Ha ha that's hilarious - how wonderfully embarrassing for Reform!
    • Closing down completely. The lovely people there are all retiring. Thanks, but Deptford is a long way to go to make two journeys to  take and collect a car! Do they not do even relatively minor repairs if it fails its MOT first time? Then that would require four journeys 😭 Wondering if there's already a thread on here for garage recommendations? People on my road WhatsApp group have recommended some local ones. I'm particularly gutted because apart from the lovely people who worked there,  Dell was a five minute walk for me!
    • I did think that might be the reason, but five years out of seven it's going to be a weekday (I think. Not sure how leap years might affect things!)
    • Probably because the 5th was a weekday. We still have the weekend to come. Also, some fireworks going off nearly every night for the last few months. Last night something was being let off that made a very deep booming noise every 10 seconds or so. That said, if the general public are beginning to see the harm done by firework noise and choosing to use low noise options and refusing to support organised events that still use the full throttle type, I for one would be very happy. Does anyone know if the Herne Hill Velodrome Halloween fireworks event used low noise options?
