I wasn't present but I've just been speaking to a friend of mine who yesterday in Downham witnessed something sick. he was walking his dog who's a fully grown male German shepherd in Forster park in Downham when a group of lttle shits set their Staff/Bulldog/extention of their dick on his dog Jess. His two sons Bill and Louis were present and thankfully Jess killed his opponent. When the police arrived they were naturally suspicious that an organised dog fight had been arranged but after talking to witnesses it had become apparent that something sinister but becomeing more common had happened. Basically, for a laugh these 'people' take a dangerous dog to the park and find a more or less equal opponent. Place bets on which dog is most likely to win or how long their dog will take to kill it's innocent opponents and if theirs looses just walk off! They film the footage on mobile phones and post the footage on underground internet sites for others to 'enjoy'.

Beware.

Some people are incapable of owning a pet, my sister has a staff cross and I can categorically say that the dog is a wonderful pet there is no malice in him whatsoever hes a bit of a pest because he is so affectionate and wont leave me alone when I visit, hes a good dog it's the owners who ill treat the dogs and make them vicious. I personally would have punched the feckers into the middle of next week, they should be banned from owning any animals.

You will be surprised how many South Londoners from Grove Park/Hither Green/Ladywell walk their dogs in Footscray/Crayford/Oxleas Woods for this very reason.

Alsations are wonderful dogs and I feel so sorry for the victim having these scum for owners.

Like the Guy mentioned in The South London Press, who took his maimed, weak Pit-Bull and pushed it off the nearest tower block accompanied by his leering m8's and then put the remnants in the nearest trash can.

I don't know who I despise the most ..the perpetrators or the Members of The General Public who, effectively, condone this behaviour by doing f+++ all about it....

Most days in the various Parks that I walk with my 4 West Highland Terriers I will speak to 10 different owners about their dogs and almost, unanimously, these owners love their Dogs for the wonderful characters they are and to think these Guys can do this to someones beloved pet sickens me.

I found my mind constantly thinking of this while watching The Chelsea/Liverpool game and I'm so sad that certain members of our Society behave like this...it was never like this b4..never....

Good ol' days eh, TLS? ;-)

The only reason I don't subscribe to capital punishment is because it's not possible to get it right all the time. However, I think that people who would wilfully train a dog to set it on a stranger's pet are demonstrating such a lack of respect for society that they don't deserve to be part of it.

Absolutely H.

These Guys actually get a kick out of it in the same way as some Muggers actually enjoy inflicting violence long after the robbery has occurred.

Its as if the situation has got to deterioriate to a new nadir b4 something is done and deterrents are just that.

Right Quids since you had difficulty reading/understanding what I posted I'll try my upmost to make it as clear as possible.

I wasn't there and didn't make the call to the authorities but I imagined when they were told a nasty fight between two fully grown/powerful dogs was happening in a public park with small children present they wanted to prevent a human tragedy as swiftly as possible as I'm sure until the full facts were made available everyone present thought that an out of control dog was making to attack to small boys but had been stopped in it's tracks by their dog.

Your comment, 'They weren't aware'. Aware of what?

What I think you're refering to is that a specific type of fight was taking place. Only after talking to witnesses who said that the deceased dog had a group of suspicious looking owners (without uttering the cha...... word I hope you can picture them) that walked/ran off after it had become apparent that their dog was onto a loser they abandoned him whilst my friend and owner of the Alsation stayed put and spoke to the Police. I imagine since this type of sport is in it's infancy so to speak I don't think it would be too critical of the cops to say it temporarily sliped under their radar. After talking to several people present they explained the plausible explaination as to what happened. I think that the owners ran off speaks volumes in this case.

I never said it's common. I said from a second hand source that it's 'becomeing common'.

Please get you facts straight before letting cynicism take over.

    • That a shocking story.  Spurs?  You appear to be lost.  Haringey is very much the other side of the river.
    • Every year they ask for more and every year it is an exhausting process pushing back on that for local residents and councillors. What annoys me is that at the post event consultation/ feedback this year, I specifically asked them if the rumours around applying for two weekends next year were true. They told me no. So that was a lie. Anyway, we go again.

    • Rant ahead: You're not one of them but unfortunately, there's a substrate of posters here that do very little except moan and come up with weird conspiracy theories. They're immediately highly critical of just about any change, and their initial assumption is that everyone else is a total fucking contemptible idiot. For example: don't you think that the people who run the libraries will have considered the impact of timing of reconstruction on library users? (In fact, we know they have - because they've made arrangements at other libraries to attempt to mitigate the disruption). After all, these are the people that spend their whole working week thinking about libraries and dealing with library users (and the kids especially). You don't go into the library game for the chicks and fame - so it's fair to assume that librarians are committed to public service and public access to libraries, including by kids. Likewise the built environment people (engineers, architects, construction managers, project managers, construction contractors, subcontractors or whoever is on this job) are told to minimise disruption on every job they do. The thing that occurs to us as amateurs within 30 seconds of us seeing something is probably not something a full time professional hasn't thought about! Southwark Council, the NHS, TfL, Dulwich Estate, Thames Water, Openreach - they're not SPECTRE factories filled with malevolent chaosmongers trying to persecute anyone. They're mostly filled with people who understand their job and try to do their best with what they've been given - just like all of us. Nobody is perfect or immune from challenge, and that's fair enough, but why not at least start from the assumption that there's a good reason why things have been done the way they have? Any normal person would be pleased that their busy, pretty, lively local library is getting refurbished, and will have more space and facilities for kids and teens, and will be more efficient to run and warmer in winter. But no, EDT_Forumite_752 had kids who did an exam 20 years ago, and this makes them an expert on library refurbishment who can see it's all just stuff and nonsense for the green agenda and why can't it all be put off... 😡😡😡
