As far as I'm concerned the thread can be closed...

What was opened as a Light Hearted topic was hi-jacked several times by the usual suspects.

With abuse and insult..

You can all carry on playing your games on your own.. I will not be back on this thread.

I haven't insulted you. I've just put my mug up like you requested.

I think the problem may be the use of fuck in the address, which the EDF doesn't allow.

If you Google 'No I won't calm down mug' it will come up with a link to Amazon. I tried to paste the link here but the EDF won't redirect back to the Amazon page...

uncleglen that sounds really heavy if people have actually insulted you on the street for carrying your stuff in a plastic bag. How did you respond and did they apologise when you responded ? Also, what did they actually say ?

Sounds horrible, last thing you need when minding your own business is comments about your choice of device for carrying stuff. You could tell the blow-in, over-privileged yuppies that at least you're CARRYING your stuff instead of dragging those poncey wheelie cases that the soft-handed, never-done-an-honest-days-work-in-their-lives toffs seem to enjoy dragging into the paths of genuine original ED residents !

Whoa.

Poly bag.

If that's a man bag styled with all over plumage in striking green, locally sourced from ring-necked parakeets ? that's street cred right there. In spades. Extra points if there's a "Who's A Pretty Boy Then?" motif on the shoulder strap.

Don't listen to the haters. I'm going to start making one for myself now.

I have also been sniggered at and told by a young woman rather patronisingly I felt, that "you do know that you can get bags you can use again, rather than using those plastic ones?" - this was whilst I was packing some bits away in Sainsburys and she was in the queue behind me. Surprise surprise she looked like an extra from 'Notting Hill'. Ever since, I've consciously gone out of my way to make sure I never take my own bags when shopping in Sainsburys.

Louisa.

I was walking down Lordship Lane yesterday and a lady (who was being carried in a sedan chair by four dirty faced, bare footed children), punched me in the goolies and told me to 'get back to Catford'. She was wearing a t-shirt which said "East Dulwich: discovered 2010". This kind of thing is becoming a regular occurance in ED.

    • I’m currently conducting exploratory research into menstrual health education in UK secondary schools and would really value the insight of PSHE leads, Heads of Year, or pastoral staff.    The research aims to understand:   How the menstrual cycle is currently taught within the RSHE framework Where schools feel confident — and where there may be gaps Whether students are taught and  asking questions around the full menstrual cycle, symptoms, wellbeing and conditions such as PMS/PMDD or endometriosis How schools support students in feeling empowered to understand their bodies and seek help appropriately Whether education around nutrition, lifestyle, and menstrual wellbeing is currently addressed   The long-term goal is to explore whether there is a need for additional, age-appropriate, medically informed support on the menstrual cycle.  I’m not selling a programme and there is no obligation beyond a 30 minute informal chat online (Unpaid). All conversations will be confidential and used only to inform the research. If you work in a UK secondary school and would be willing to share your perspective, I would be extremely grateful to hear from you. Please comment below or email me [email protected] Thank you for the vital work you do. Best wishes, Emma
