I am very sad to announce that Terry Duggan passed away on Sunday 19th April after a long illness bravely fought. Many of you living in East Dulwich may remember him when he and his wife ran Sound & Vision on Lordship Lane. His funeral will take place on Tuesday 12th May and anyone wishing to send flowers can contact the Co-op Funeral Diretors on Lordship Lane (020 8693 5028) or donations can be made to St Christophers Hospice.

Please PM me should you wish to contact his wife Diana directly.

Diana, I am SO sorry about Terry...geepers is right, Terry was very brave with his illness (as are you) as he had been battling with it for absolutely ages. He really was a lovely man, kind and quietly spoken - with that gorgeous head of hair which I used to love touching just to see him blush! I will PM geepers. My heart goes out to you.

Excuse me, how dare you...

I was just trying to work out who the Op was talking about as if it was the one up near the Magdala then I used them very often and yes it does sadden me. I moved to Nunhead 10 years ago so cannot remember every shop as I do not frequent there very often. If it is not the same one then they still have my condolences

    • Someone had a worse day than you. Be grateful not to be involved.
    • I don't know how it works now but my late parents had little money when they were retired (just state pension and they rented their flat) and they used to take their cat to the Blue Cross (In Victoria if I remember correctly) where treatment was free for those who could'nt afford a private vet. I sincerely hope similar is available still because for many elderly their pet is their main source of comfort and company.
    • In a couple of places locally, I have come across this. I am fairly sure that they attempt to do the bill in their head. If you just say , “no, I think it’s x” they start again and get to an agreeable number, or find a calculator. I don’t think it’s a malicious attempt to swindle people. Just not great arithmetic.
    • There are excellent charities like the Greenwich Wildlife Network who will help if you report any concerns with local wildlife. Foxes are wonderful creatures who had been forced into our town and cities and are just doing their best to survive, we should take care of them when we can.
